My hull was on the doorstep when I got home today. The fit and finish on it is great and the hatch fits perfect.
Now its time to search a few threads for info and start building.Rico 29, Sprintcat 34, Insane FE 30 Hydro, 43'' Aeromarine ConquestComment

How adjustable is that strut angle? Are the slots a tad wider than the thru bolts? If so, looks like the perfect set-up to me! hats off!Comment

For anyone not of the mind or budget to go to a Sholund-style H-5 or H-6 : Since my H-5 got kaboodled while it was mounted on my Vegas with Brian driving it at the 2-Lap and found a turtle or something, I tested one of my highly sharpened and tip-cupped M445's today on my FE 30/Ul-1 motor spec setup and it was really fine. Great punch out of the hole, motor sounded highly wound out, and (with no GPS) the top speed looked just as good as the H-5 from where I stood. Watch temps - no increase in heat at all on the FE 30 today, although on my sponson-modded UL-1 things got warmer than I'd like at the last race in Feb. I'll do some more testing to verify this prop on the FE 30 but I really liked the way the spec-rigged boat ran with the M445.2008 NAMBA P-Mono & P-Offshore Nat'l 2-Lap Record Holder; '15 P-Cat, P-Ltd Cat 2-Lap

I've got one.. What was the reasoning for everyone going starboard side rudder on this hydro? I know some guys do it on hydros, but more commonly you see port side on hydros, and starboard side on riggers. It also looks like the FE30 hardware could be ran inverted (the bracket) to run port side rudder? No?Comment

Gotcha, did you buy the FE30 hardware then? That should be real nice. I like that hull too. I woulda bought one already if i didn't keep burning stuff up!Comment

Rudder position on hydros depends on the hull design. On some it does not matter - my DarkHorse ran the same with the rudder to the left or right of the strut. Some hydros need the force applied by the left-side rudder to keep the inside sponson down in the turns. But this makes the model very sensitive to flipping when trying to correct to the left.
Riggers generally don't need the insude sponson held down so the rudder works well on either side - but better on the right to reduce the flipping tendency. The Insane hydro acts the same way.
