Will this work for a 4mm drive cable?

It's for a .187 drive, but wondering if it will tighten up enough to work on a 4mm cable. (it's a .76mm difference. ) Not sure how much tolerance there is on the contraction.

That will not work.

I figured I could use a .150 with a 4mm cable- .007" difference. Nope.

I'm running his wire drives already. Maybe I'll just have a wire drive setup for this instead.

Thats a heck of a difference, I think I would rather drill a 5mm-4mm coupler out to 8mm, it may contract down onto it but even if it does it will only be gripping the flex with the very tips of the fingers, so to stop it spinning you will have to tighten it a LOT which will bite into the flex and weaken it.

With an 8mm shaft I guess its a 1521-1527, rather a lot of motor for a 4mm flex, even if you could find a 8mm-4mm coupler you might find your shafts arent lasting you long.

I know Etti do collets for ECO wiredrives (not in 8mm), but if your putting a lot of power through a wire I really don't think you can beat flat spots and a grub screw coupler.

Yeah... I'll most likely end up with a set screw coupler for the wire.

You will hav a heck of a time drilling an Octura out with a bigger bit. They are hardened plated. I have done smaller drilling with them to make 62 couplers fit 078 and even that ate a bunch of bits. I would drill them from the motor shaft end and into the back of the tongues and keep tightening the nut down on the tongues. Not easy.

Set screw coupler have held some big stuff but you do need loctite...which you should be using for all your screws in a boat anyway.
