I am going twin the next hull and am close to deciding on a hull form. It will either be a Hydro or a Cat that will run as a Hydro anyway, rear supported on the prop.
If it is a Whip style hydro then it will be 26"
A cat will be 24"with the standard overhang that will take it to 26"
Background My ~23" cat was nuts on an old 540-12S (2800kv+) motor to a 432 prop on 4S 3550mAh lipo.
This was running a estimated 35-37krpm at the prop, loaded.
Good for well over 40mph
I have done a lot of maths during the two new cat builds and see a ggod reason to run twins on insane rpms.
The plan
Two outrunners like these
or similar as there are a few
Fed with 3S should net me 30krpm+ at the prop. 4S could make things very interesting
ESC's are easy as I have a few of the 100A Mystery's and can get more.
Props
Here is where the fun begins, do I run the Venom EKOS 36x1.4 L&R
or a smaller prop like the Graupner CF props.
I have my reservations on the CF props as I have blown a lot of them with massive rpm setups.
Am I on my own here to experiment or are there a few pointers that I can follow?
