    Hi model 200 amp ESCs

Considering getting some hi model GX 200 amps ESC and cooling them for myself. Anyone having issues with these and how hard are they to program? Which version to get...If the bec model is stronger I will still use a UBEC for them.

    Thanks.

Also, do they run right out of the box without programming?

Out of the box, they are setup for Nimh's if I remember correctly.

I have a 100A that has worked well for me. Never any issues. Then again, I think it's hit and miss from my understanding. It's been so long since I programmed I don't really remember. Mine features SV ESC cooling.

Nope. You will need to use a Tx. The written instructions are pretty easy to follow. But what I recommend you do is use a stick Tx on initial startup without a Pistix adapter. To my ear it made the programming tones easier to understand and they were louder too. Dont ask me why that should be because I used the same motor on a bench to program my HiModels then put them in the hulls and went thru the setup process again.

They do not require a Pistix is what I understand. I do uinderstand about using a stick radio to set it up first.

All three of mine required programming before they would work. At least the throttle curve had to be programmed in. But I am using Futaba FM systems. A 3PM and a T3PDF. None of mine will work without a Pistix. I wasted too much time trying out different settings and end point adjustments. The instructions have an auto throttle setting, which in other speedos I have does allow it to work with a PG Tx. But these guys wouldnt do it for me. YMMV.

I have a JR XS3Pro FM and mine works without Pistix. I just adjust the throttle endpoint as I recall.

Jeff, if you have a Castle 25 sitting around by chance, I know the endpoint isn't that far. So if you can get a Castle 25 to arm without Pistix, then I would say that you could arm one of these. That or get a rubberband. LOL

                  Hope this helps.

Not saving much $$ and too long to ship.
If you get a card combo deal, after shipping it will be less then HK or same price depending on your member level: http://www.hobbyhot.com/hobbywing-se...1-pr-1892.html

Welll I ordered one of those Skywave 150 amp and basically it comes with a motor with cooling I can use in another boat....ESC and motor for $60. Guess someone has to try them.

Looks okay with auto set for throttle and LV cutoff auto detect. Guess I will see when I get the instructions on how to program it.

Cheap is cheap! We will see...I only want to run 4S on it but will see how she does. The motor will go in a v hull.

Lets us know how they work when you get it.
I don't understand how some their 28 series motors are rated at 700-800 watts and 36 are only 300-400.
Sounds wrong for a larger motor.

I do not either. I will push it. I really just want the ESC but what the hell. I am only pulling around 100=110 amps so it should hold it. It may get cut apart first to check the contact of the cooling block on the fets.

Max efficiency on that motor says 98%, That's funny!!! I guess that may be in a vacuum of the person's mind!
