Here in Hawaii it should hit us at around 11:00-11:30. The are not predicting it to be as big as the 2004 Tsunami but still dangerous.

If all of your wishes are granted, many of your dreams will be destroyed!

Wrong forum. Nothing to do with Q & A for FE boats.

Fast one - Shane Deacon and his family are now living on Lord Howe Island. I hope they went back to the mainland.

If any good can be taken from a disaster on the scale of 2004 the warning procedures established after the fact mean that at least you have been given notice this time, which should save countless lives, no lives should be lost this time and I hope the property damage is minimal.

The water is so calm right now. They started to evacuate many beach front areas. All the coast line access is closed. Most Gas stations are out of fuel but overall we have a lot of time to prepare for this. We had a big one in 1960 that did a lot off damage. This one shouldn't be bad though. Hopefully we all learned from past experiences.

It is if you run in the sea, I do when I get down to Adelaide and the water is smooth in the still mornings. It would really piss me off if I was blasting away with the rigger and the water dissapeared then came back as a killer bloody wave

The USGS NEIC (national earthquake information center) shows 15-20 magnitude 5+ quakes off Chile in the last 15 hours. Something big is going on down there. Last big quake was in 1960.

Hey Ozzie how did you guys do? We didn't have any major waves just some changing tides. Here is some pics from a hotel that I used to work at. We run on the opposite side of that area.

JMO. Sometimes threads aren't directly related to FE Q & A, I see this forum as people that get to know each other and support each other on boats and seen it with other personal issues, sure we talk about FE boats and in the most cases this forum is very good in keeping to it but when you get to know a group and a great bunch of guys their are certain things that we might feel that are worth mentioning.
