I know someone that used one. It was very durable and worked fine on NiMH cells on a sport boat. You just have to listen to the twinkle, twinkle, little star tune, each time you arm it.
got mine for $40 and run stock settings. have had them up to 90amps and 165 degrees. they do thermal down yet pick right up to get back to shore. not water cooled. they turn X447 on a gearboc 1:2-1. the 90amps came in on a 52mm 3 bladed prop. 68 amps on the X447. have them for almost a year now sport running. 39 mph gps. upgraded to the 120 amp hextronic ($45) and have seen mph increased to 43.7mph same boat same batteries, same props. get 5 minutes of WOT run time and 170 degrees on escs afterwards. not water cooled. motors are water cooled. like i said, sport running.
well after rolling sea terror over and getting everything wet inside, i slapped these mystery80s back in after the two hextronic 120s got really wet. back down to 39 mph from 44.7mph on the hex120s. guess the four buss capacitors pump out more then the two the mystry80s have. same set up.
got one, flooded twice and still working
as robby76 says the Hextronic120 are robably better and cost 50$, but I got my last Mystery80A for 13$ on Ebay so choice is made... for very low budget sport it's good enough!
BTW robby76, on my web site, look at the last vid of the Admiral running with 2x700Turbo C, it's getting better and better!!! we'rre getting close to you :)
