    drilling a coupler?

    i decided to upgrade my novak powered boat to a fieago. i ordered the fieago yesterday but i for got to buy a new coupler. can i drill the coupler out? has anyone done this?

    I tried with no success using a regular bit on a lathe. The metal was to hard in a long coupler. Steven said he did it on a drill press, not sure which type of bit he used.

      i'll try on my drill press then. proballly have to buy a new one from a different source. who said stevo gets to go on vacation.:D just kidding

        I drill out Octura couplers all the time, but usually the wire end. Use a cobalt drill bit or better, and you will likely destroy the bit anyway. Use cutting oil. And be sure to spin the work, not the bit. Otherwise you will not get the new hole straight - so you will not have a bit and you will not have a coupler you can use.
