Here is the pickle setup.
ETTI 125 amp ESC without BEC (run a receiver pack) <<looking to change this
Stock UL-1 motor
Prop "45"
(2) 7.4v Kershaw Designs 5000mah lipos in series
I am looking to trash the receiver pack and on/off batt switch The on/off switch already crapped out on the lake and I had to swim for it at 8am in 60deg water!
Anyways, I run Castle BEC's on all my land crawling rigs all with 11.1v lipos. So I am familiar with those and the wiring. Plug red wire esc, blah blah.
Question is where would be the best place to solder the BEC on a series connector? At the 16.8v end or at one of the the 8.4v batteries sides.
Or just solder it to the ESC male plug (as I do with 11.1v lipos) and lit it step down the 16.8v to 5.1v for the steering servo.
I know the Castle BEC can handle 25v or whatever. Does it matter? 16.8v vs 8.4v for the BEC heat sake?
Thanks for the help.
