To all of you who run hand built shovelnose/pickleforks based on Garry Finlay 1/10th plans...as well as the few Dumas 1/10th scale hulls.....what sort of speeds are you getting with these "stock off the plans" sponson designs
What if any improvements are needed? or are the majority of Finlay plans capable of 50+ mph with modern brushless components.
I have personally built a 1/10th shovel the Ted Jones based plan and it was a fun boat...but the first hull I had ever built, it ran ok but not great. Obviously choosing birch ply rather than balsa, like the plans suggest...but I am curious about speeds and handling to those of you who build or are building hulls based on these plans. same goes for the Dumas atlas, and eagle etc...for examples.
Pics of sponson changes and any info would be great! thanks again...
Thanks
Patrick
