The 300 degrees is a bit over rated but it does get hot and that is why I added the stuff to insulate the lipo's from the bottom (where the heat is generated) and I do have to keep an eye on the temps. But it does warm them up quite a bit faster than the cooler/heater and is moore compact.

yep!! i sware by this after testing with my twin maritimo. i gained 8 mph by going from 70 deg to (amb.) to 110 deg.(heated) i use a heating pad like for my sore back.. roll up the lipos(8s) in most of my boats and 10-15 min later there at 110 deg. last time i even tried a piece of tin foil around the pad to insulate the whole thang.. in 10 min , they were at 125 deg. i just took it down to the water ( a big burrito)!! it works......................

Not sure what paper jepps have to do with public confidence or were you refering to my Blackberry slang terminology? I had to ask. It was the zipper smiley.

Blake, What I was trying to convey was that I can relate when you say "stuck in the stone age" because I feel that way at my place of employment (technologically speaking). However, I cannot act in a manner which erodes public confidence (bad mouth my employer). So I remain silent (zipper smiley). I hope that explains it better. Now you know why I'm a controller and not a writer. Talk to you on the freqs!

And do you sit on them while you ride to the lake, Douggie?

I have heard some guys say they laid their batteries on the dash where the defroster air comes out and that warms them up nicely while driving to the lake.

I did the car heater thing last time Jim. It's okay if your going to be at the lake for a few hours, but I found doing that to be a PITA if your spending all day at a race. I need something quick and not too expensive (no time to wait for a ebay auction) so I found a 12 volt electric blanket on Amazon for $29 shipped. I will fold it up, put it in a cooler and give that a shot. Draws a little over 6 amps (80 watts). I'm going to have to see how fast that sucker warms up the batteries. If I leave it pluged to the deep cycle all day, I wont have any juice left for the Lipo chargers. In hind site, I might as well bring my generator and steal the wifes 120 volt blanket.
