OK, I want to get back into boats. Only problem is I just spent a boat load of money and if I have to spend much more, my wife is gonna shoot me. I am trying to get my hands on a used Traxxas Villain EX. I just like the boat. it's cheap, the dual strudders are cool, and it has tons of low end. Maybe not much of a speed deamon but thats where this thread comes in.
I have been doing some thinking. My thought is that this boat should have more speed in it with the dual motors. 18-20MPH (I GPS'ed my own about 18 months ago on 12 matched ib3800's) is just not fast enough for the gear.
I was thinking that with some higher gearing, and some smaller higher pitched props that the villain might even have 24-28MPH in it. I never had mine long enough to tweak it.
Now I am sure with this setup it's not going to jump right out of the water like it does now, but I would imagine that it would go pretty good still having dual out drives.
Just thinking....and wondering if anyone has tweaked the stock setup like this....
Some thoughts please....
