A look inside the sss 56123

    The SSS 56123 - 500KV

If anyone has been eyeing these down for a boat here is a look inside . The rotor
is 28.35mm x 82mm probably the closest you can get to a Neu 2230 or a Lehner 3080
for about 1/5 the price . The wire is packed right in there also for maximum power .
The motor seems to be well made and smooth as silk at rpm........freewheeling

I just wanted to measure the rotor length just out of curiosity .

    Hello Peter,

Looks like a 6 pole rotor. Is there no cogging detent when turned by hand? I would expect this motor to be very "notchy".

      Hi Tyler

Sorry if I made it sound like it doesn't cog at all - Its pretty lumpy turning by hand .

It is very notchy at low rpm typical of a 6 pole but wound right out very smooth as in extremely well balanced rotor . This would be great
for someone that wants a large boat but on a budget . Hey I see Lehner now has a 30100 might have to upgrade the Apache....LOL .

I ran a 1200kv 5684 in a 40" mono on 6S2P. It ran very well and very cool. Six pole motors for sure the 56mm series.

Sorry for the late reply Ray - 1200KV is a pretty hot wind for a 56mm motor .

The 5694 I had first was far far a hotter motor than the 5684. It was fine with a SF 240. never broke a sweat.

              Ray and Tyler

Tyler does the design look familiar - Still needs the stringer mount screws hogged in .

What ya think of the motor now - I got a Rocket 56L water jacket and a cool machined mount.

The Rocket/Surpass/GoolRC jacket is nice. I have one for a 36mm motor. The O-rings aren't so great on the smaller ones.

                  High volume for water.
