    Is rtv ok ??

Ive read where some on here use an epoxy to water proof an exposed ESC and thats good idea but am wondering if black RTV would work just as well

Meh. I don't think I would use silicon. Ive heard it has bad reactions with the circuits or circuit boards. I know personally that 5 minute permatex epoxy works great. You can even add black dye to it to make it look better. Im so sure it works I put it on $300 escs

The only silicone I am aware of you could use would be " Neutral Cure Silicone" but it is messy

Most RTV products produce acetic acid during curing. That can do a lot of damage to some surface-mounted components.

Servisol silicone is safe for use on electrical components as that is what it is designed for. DP270 epoxy is also safe for use and is sold on OSE.
