    Caps

This isn't an ESC question ,I run buggies up big dunes on 6s and I run boats fast on 6 s ,both ESC are made by hobby Partz but the buggy guys never have caps and the boat guys have 6 of them ,I know what a cap is and what it does ,I don't know why having that extra reserve saves the ESC, should I put a cap on my buggy ESC.? Pulling lots of load in the dunes ,at the OSE store there are the 1000 caps I can put one of those or a bank of them ,whatever you guys suggest ,I have ruined several ESC in the dunes ,give advise please ,desert season is just around the corner ,thanks

    Look at the thread:

It is a long read but you will learn a lot. Boats pull much higher amps than cars and trucks, the caps can help supply the ESC with extra voltage when the batteries can't due to voltage depression at high amp draw. This helps save the ESC. If you log your ripple voltage, it should not exceed 2 volts. For example, I use five 1000 mF caps on my SAW boats - since I started this (thanks Dr Wayne!) I haven't blown an ESC in two SAW events..

On the OSE store is a 4cap bank ,green ,14$, up to 12s ,I run up to 6s ,would this be to much? Where can I get one of those shown on that forum of 4 in a row with black shrink wrap and wire leads?
