What battery? Sounds like the voltage is dropping under load and the ESC is reacting to that. I have almost the same set up as you do but my battery is quite new. What is the LVC on your set up?
Too many boats, not enough time...

The 1818 is pretty aggressive and loads the motor a bunch, so marginal cells will show depressed voltage after a few laps. That may be enough to prompt the LVC to kick in. I assume the ESC is set to a soft cutoff. If you lower the LVC setting to 3.2 volts that may be enough to finish the heat.

My JAE with 1415/1Y likes a modded H-7 and runs 12 second laps, GPS in the mid-70s. Less load than the 1818 too, averaging around 100 amps during a 6-lap heat.

          I run a CC 1515 2200 with a T-180 on 5s in my Jae turning a 1650 back cut. 86.5 mph.

The H-7 is detongued and cupped at the tips to reduce lift. A bit of extra pitch on the last 1/8" of the blade too.
