    Venom 5000mah 25c 5s2p, on a 60A Turnigy/Speaking ESC ? ....

Alrighty; I just soldered up 5.5mm connectors on the input side of this 60A turnigy ESC, then made a 5.5mm to deans adapter on 10 awg leads. Now I can plug in my series adapter, or run my single 4s & 5s packs. I've got 2 Venom 5000mah 25c 5s2p packs i've been waiting to try out, hope this ESC handles 5s 25c alright. I know the AQ 60A ESC handles 5s alright. Anybody tried 5s on these esc's ?.....

This is in my mean machine 4s sportboat. Iam not planning on upgrading this AQ 3656 motor to a bigger ESC. Eventually I'll drop it into another ul-1 hull when I pick up an ESC for my 3672. That'll give this mm a real kick in DA' butt. Right now it runs good pushing a back cut m442 to help keep the amps down & give it more top end. Just thought it might be nice if I could play with these 5s cells ?.....

    Thanks guys

You didn't say what motor are running . If I remember reading right, your using a 2000kv motor in it right? If so, then 5s is gonna toast that esc.

      Ha ha, she's running an aquacraft 3656 (2030kv) with a turnigy 60A ESC & a backcut m442 prop. She runs great on 40c 4s packs. Just wondering if it'll handle a Venom 5000mah 25c 5s2p alright since its only 25c & a 1.4 pitch prop ?

the battery can deliver more amp than the esc can take, so id assume the battery will survive, but hte esc is the bottleneck. im running that same motor in a miss geico with a suppo 200a esc and im not sure id run it on 5s in that.

on a 120 no problem, but a 60 might be risky. try to sell it and grab a 120

to be honest, i would probably just run 4s1p to keep weight down, and try an m445. running 5s2p in that boat is a heavy boat, and that aq motor is gonna be working pretty hard to push that sled around. drop some weight or upgrade your power system.

Well after pondering about it for awhile I'll play it cautious & stick with 4s. I have run 5s with this setup in a ul-1, but they're smaller & lighter than my meanie'.

Just to let you know, I did some looking into things.
HK's website says the 60A turnigy marine will handle 60A constant & max burst of 320A. However its only recommended for 2-3s ??.
              The Venom 5000mah 25c 5s2p specs at 125A constant & a burst of 175A
              The Thunder Power 3850mah 35-50c 4s are 0.99A & a burst of 198A

Rather than chance the smoke of death with 5s, maybe I'll solder up 5.5's on my 3674sl (2350kv) 1/8th scale 4 pole as and try it on 4s instead ......
