You may want to PM doug smock or mike martin. Mike has built a few of them and Doug just finished one. Both are very knowledgable.

I placed 2 at the namba nats in Q-mono(6s) with the 31 it can handle it but on 4s its plenty fast unless you already have the 6s setup I would build it 4s

Thanks for that info, i do have some 30c discharge 6s already for my 1/8 scale brushless cars, but i might build it with 4s anyway. What kind of speeds should i expect to see with 4s? I would like to see low-mid 50s.

with a 1515 1y neu or a 1521 1d set up loose around 60mph. the rico if you are raceing set it up a little tight once you get into race water it will come alive and eat any chop you can throw at it. I recomend useing accu tec trim tabs.

Mike what works better in a p mono the higher kv smaller motor 15151y or the bigger motor lower kv 1521 1d. I am leaning towards the 1521 1d in my 29delta

in the 29 delta I would go for the 1515 1y personaly I like the y winds better everything runs cooler and I have setup my 31 with both motors I can run as big of prop with the 1515 as i can with the 1521 and the esc came in 30 % cooler with the 1515. batts also cooler

the 1521/1D is an amp hog, a SAW motor... I'd stay away from it unless you are experimenting.

just was looking at this old post and i realized that i made i mistake. i meant the 1521 1.5 D (1860Kv) NOT the 1D. so same Q i guess.
