    Graupner B24 volvo bat boat

Ive got a kit I bought a long time ago. This is the original GRP (fibreglass) hull kit that is not made anymore.
    The hull is beautiful.
Ive decided to build it finally . After looking online Ive decided to go with with a 3/16 flex drive strut rudder combo inline.

Im going to choose the motor KV etc based on what batteries I have which are.
    Thinking a x442 prop.

    Gen Ace Graphnene 5000mah 50 2s x2 in series
    GRaphene turnigy 3s 45c 2200 in parallel
    so either 3s or 4s.

Im thinking of going with any outrunner with a water cooled motor mount 36 series? I have 150A water cooled esc I can use already.
    Any suggestions.

I think we ran them on 8.4v 700bb turbos back in the day. I would go 4s and 2200KV, with a 250-350g motor for my driving style. I have never used an outrunner in that size range so can't suggest one to you.

When I bought the hull , my was an SS1 (700BB special version) and 12 cells.
The SS1 ended up going in CEN Waveshark where it still lives on)
        I ve got a 3660 4Pole 2600kv and a 1800kV 3656 on hand. The 3656 1800KV lives in my 26 inch KMB jet boat right now..
Im hoping to go with a lighter build , Im thinking the 2600kv 3660 4 pole and graphene 45c 3S 2200's x2 in parallel will be fun with x445 maybe or go full 4s with 2x 2s 50c 5000's with either motor. Ill use my water cooled 150A esc regardless.

It depends what you want from it I guess we used the high KV 700s to limit props to 45mm as the hull is very narrow at the waterline and they didn't like any bigger props (the real ones used a cool single shaft contra rotating drive for the same reason).

While 3s 2600kv x445 would be faster than a 12cell 700 setup, I am not sure that I would be happy with it these days. I would probably go 2600kv 4s 5000mAh and a 38mm prop, for *!***!***!***!**s and giggles, but I have no real idea if it would handle the extra speed.

It will be pretty light either way, don't forget that even the 4s 5000mAh pack is probably half the weight of the 12 SubCs, and the motors are probably 150g+ lighter than a 700 too. I am a big fan of lightness, but I have no real of idea how it will handle being so much lighter, it may be amazing, or it may need ballast.

Either way its going to be fun:) I like trying to build around what batteries I have as they are blinking expensive.
Right now I can power everything I have from a combination of current battery stock.
I need to get an x438 for my s2 om21 offshore so it would get used regardless. From what Ive read the b24 was usually used with 12cels and x440- x442 and then batteries balanced a little to the left for torque roll.
4S and 2600kv is almost 44k I would think cavitation might be a problem but wait and see.
Im thinking a dual rudder instead of inline would be better in the corners.

Ps My 4s situation is 2 2s5000mah 50 packs so 4s will be both packs.
I weighed my old 12 cell packs and the two 2s packs. The lipos are only 150 grams lighter than the nimh . They are hardcase packs btw since I use them in my 12lb monster sized crawler as well.
But the motor will be lighter and the hull is very light.
