    Hydro rudder placement

Looking for some quick pointers for rudder placement on my vortex 24, does this seem to close to the strut? Theres about a 2mm gap between the two in the picture. Should I place it farther towards the starboard side of the boat? Figured I would ask before I go drilling holes after work Lol any tips are appreciated thanks

Got lots of transom to work with I would move it right 3/8 to 1/2 inch

Also, will it really matter which side of the strut I mount it on? I like how it looks to the right of the strut, but if I will be sacrificing a lot of performance I can move the water inlet and mount it to the left
