35" boat needs a 1527 1.5D 1500kv on 6s would be perfect!

That all depends on what you want. If you want something just to absolutely max out the hull speedwise just get the biggest motor you can cram in it. If you want a sound, maneuverable boat that is still fast you can use a 4074, 4082, 1717 or 1521 etc.............. These FE boats already have absurd power to weight ratios. Its like having a 2000 hp engine in a Camaro and saying yeah but I would like 2500!

Folks run 1527's in 1/8 hydros(45+ inches).......yep tons of vids on youtube

I run a 4082 in the 45" Scarab in my avatar, runs just like I want it to, nudges 40mph on 6s2p.

Don't get me wrong, too much power is not a problem, sometimes its just overkill that's all..............just get what YOU want and you will be happy

True, but it depends on kv a 1527 1.5D 1500kv on 6s in that boat will give him a 60-65mph boat. Does that mean you have to run it WFO all the time, no it doesn't but you can if you want.. I'd rather have a little more power than I need than not have enough and get bored with it real fast. You can always prop it down to get a certain max speed if you want to run it WFO.

That should be fine, BTW it's lookin' great! My TFL Ariane is a 36" hull and very simular to the Pirate the 1527 setup is what I run in it for Q-Mono that's how I know about how your Pirate is gonna perform. What kv is your 1521?

i haven't bought a motor yet actually. the 1521 comes in a 1577kv option...

Yep it's looking great, tabs look to be mounted perfectly.

BTW, I am not pushin for any certain motor, I am just pointing out both sides.

Once again..............what do you plan to do? Sanction race..............Saw..................WOT around.......................sport, that's the bottom line as far as which motor to get.

DF pirate 35 build

Tonight I got back to work on the cf inlay.
I went ahead and layed a big piece under the deck. All I have left is too lay strips down the seems.
Today I got a nice pic of it on frozen water
