Put the second coat of epoxy on all three hulls tonight. I started doing this because it has a better, more even look to it. I scuff it up with a burgundy scotch Brite pad. Clean it. Then put a light coat and even it out with the foam roller. Looks mucho better...

Travis dont need to vacuum bag his cf inlay, I can say firsthand how good his work looks, he did the cf inlay in one of my hulls. I was wondering what you used to roughen it up a bit between coats, do you just wipe it out with a damp rag then ?

I use a burgundy scotch Brite pad. I stumbled across this by accident with your buddy's cheetah. My son touched the epoxy while curing....left finger prints. So I scuffed it up and put another coat. I was impressed that it looked even better. Not that it looked bad before, but it did make a difference, especially in the daytona. That honey comb carbon is not quite flat so the extra coat helped it turn out flatter. You know another thing.....before the inlay in the daytona, it was so thin and weak I could lay it flat on a table and grab the tunnel and flex it side to side. Now....it dont move one bit. Amazed how much stiffer it is.

Travis, if you have the time that would be a very cool thing. I'm sure it would be a help to a lot of guys who have no idea on how to even begin to do a inlay. Most think you have to vacuum bag etc... DJ

Yeah but a video would show alot more, but its very time consuming. I've done my fair share of how to vids dealing with rc planes etc...you being as busy constantly it would be hard to make the time....but it would be cool sometime in the future if you had the time to do it....Happy Turkey day lil bro ... Same to you! Btw, I was in harbor freight last night and picked up a small 90 degree sander. It should help to cut the sanding time a bit. I hate the sanding omg. Everything else I'm fine with. I hate to sand with a passion! Hopefully I'll get some stuff done tonight!

I hear ya on that one, sanding is one of my dreaded tasks. Thats what I'm taking a break from on the DragHydro right now. I been looking for a mini palm sander or mini 90 like that...let me know how it works out.... DJ

I came home excited that I might get the motors mounted up in this boat, the cheetah and lehner rivercat. Well I had a quick realization that I hadn't reinforced the transom. So on this build I mixed up 36g of epoxy and finely cut up some carbon fiber and flooded the transom with it. I turned the boat sideways a little so it would get the back corners. I've seen them leak in a new hull. I'll be gettin the rest of the seam in the front with the same kind of mix and the floor will get some too. It will probably add over a pound of extra weight....which I think will be to my advantage of keeping this thing planted at the speeds I plan on getting. Plus the extra weight will counter the torque roll these hulls are known for because of how narrow they are.

                          Closer up.....

                            Mocking it up.

I came up with this idea to line the motor mount. Once I measured and figured how it will be centered I cut a couple pieces of aluminum as guide spacers. It helps line it up much faster and if I move it by accident it can do it again quickly. Then I was thinking it would be better out of angled pieces. Then I thought of an even better idea.... I'll cut out two "L's" and then a little leg. Drill and tap the L, then slot the leg...I'll be able to move it to the adjustment, set it with my caliper and lock it down. Dead accurate and super fast. I'll make the doodads

That's actually a 240 pro plus2. I use those servos for everything. At $42 shipped and waterproof, strong and fast...they can't be beat. I just tacked the motor in place. I left Just now to go do the black Friday thing.
