I use some 1 gallon ziploc freezer bags, reinforce the bottom and side seams with duct tape
And filled them with play sand. They work great and distribute the weight evenly. Plus their
Cheap....lol
I've used them on sheeting aircraft wings and now holding down boat parts square to the building
surface. Also used them when decking the boat.

I wanted to do the bottom with Epoxy instead of using the ZAP first.
I felt it may be a little stronger and a better seal. I Hope

Good idea. I usually tack mine down first, then glass all the joints and let the epoxy flow underneath the gaps and create fillets. However, I think your method might be more robust. Do you go around and glass the joints after?

Pete, is it going to hurt your feelings if I make some changes to mine?
A couple folks have mentioned making changes....and asked if it would bother me or not. I'm flattered you guys even asked!! It's your boat!! Do as you will!! I think it's great that people are making mods already!!!!!
Just a quick update. I've changed the motor mount cross brace to read 'REMOVE AFTER DECKING' instead of 'REMOVE AFTER FRAMING'. I think there is still a slight chance for things to shift until the decking is installed. Last thing you want is the gap to close and the bolt pattern to be skewed. To be honest, I didn't even remove it on my last boat....I just left it intact.

So it is OK that I changed something's?????
Sponson bottoms (0 degrees on right, 1 1/2 Degrees on left), G10 ride pads, ETC.
I was also thinking about some glass around the battery compartment floor (incase of a bad flip, the batteries do not break the seam)

I just posted on my build log about this Larry, & then I saw your post here.
I laid some glass in the battery area and some 30mm glass tape along the sides of the tub & along the bulkheads & motor mount. Also over those holes in the bulkhead behind the battery compartment. Something I do in all the wooden hydros I've built, for the very reason you gave.
