If you look at the second pic in the second set there's a clear sub hatch with a bubble in it for motor clearance under the cabin hatch.

If so you would only be riding on the tips of your prop not a larger portion like you might on say a Whiplash or maybe this hull. I don't know Randy's hulls too much, only had an old Volcanic splash that was really cool.

Randy, what say you on prop choice? Am I way off here? I thought at best a 1y would only push up to a 45mm prop but, that depends on the prop and lots else like hull design. Maybe it's a 645 I was told, never mind I'm rambling because Larry is late and I'm Hangry.
Ya I ran a X642 at Fremont when I went to the mud pond ran a X640 speeds at 62MPH on 4S 1515 1Y. This boat will need to be dialed in a little possably once it it is set right, it is a blast to drive. I go up against younger guys and have a lot of fun in P LTD Sport all the time. Next year we are going to run P open Sport in the district on sunday I think it will be a lot of fun.

yeah, with the rails running all the way to the back and the ratio between length and sponson width along with tunnel width help the Popeye pack lots of air all the way to the transom so it's easy to run a large prop up high like that. I like the popeye in aesthetics but, I looked at it and said, something tells me it was designed to use less power and be rock stable doing so. I think that hull would max out at 45mph in oval trim. Nice boat but, more sporty than race ready.

You're right about that Ray, I had to do a lot of work to my Popeye to get it to run stable at P Sport speeds mainly the cutouts I made behind the sponsons to bleed of the air from under the hull. That made a huge difference in keeping it stuck to the water without making it run wet.

That was you huh, imagine that. I saw your mods and then I said I'd try a ML or another Whip 20. As much as I curse while doing it, I like building wood boats.

I'm not good with wood, I've been a Fabricator and worked with metal most of my life. But I do have a ML GP400 V2 coming Mike is building it for me. and I'll rig it when it gets here

I got a idea to do a set of BBY graphics in the Orange Crush theme with what you have going on any way. I am doing the outline in green and back ground in white . If the green is not the correct color I am sending black and white too.

That sounds Killer Randy, Are you making them to go up on the Sponsons? Cause I have Mono Jeff doing the Orange Crush Logos to go in the area back on the deck.

I made them in two sizes 8.5" and 11.75" you can have either set you want for the sponsons. Pictured is the font I used.

Hear is a picture of the stuffing tubes the way I learned when we had no power to run fast on, everybody had .05 motor to run on. It is just more efficient over all and each little thing you do to the boat makes it faster. Just trying to help.

Randy, Which ever size decal White with Green outline you think would go best on the SS-30 is fine with me! The bender I use is a little bender for doing stainless nitrous lines and it's like a mandarel bender, it makes a nice uniform bend without making the tube oval. With everything greased up when you let off the throttle it will actually coast a little instead of dead stopping like most do but thanx for the advise.
