Take this as a compliment and not an insult. Ur driving it like a 20mph toy. Its not gunna corner a 6' radius at 50mph. Drive it like a performance boat and not so irratic and you will find its better than you think. You have a wicked machine. Treat it that way.

Your speed readings on that small a pond are not going to be accurate.
I can tell you by looking at it that its more then capable of way more then 45mph.
Hard for a GPS unit to maintain accurate speed reading with up and down speeds....

I think it looked very good for a just completed build. There wasn't any directions on the box for putting this boat together! I hope my maiden run of my current first big build goes half as smooth! It looks like there's plenty of speed left yet as well. Congrats.

I didnt bother to gps it. I brought the gps along but I need to get it lined out first. The prop walk was pretty bad. I had to hold the wheel one way to make it go Straight then back of it at slower speeds. All in all im not dissapointed, but in the speed I am. I have some work to do to get it lined out. So far I love the motor/esc combo. It seemed to run longer than I thought. Everything stayed nice and cool. Like 86 degrees.

If it ran that cool it means you can use way more prop and with that will come more speed. also sounds like you need to adjust steering trim and from the looks of it slow the steering down a bit too. if your radio has that capability. Other than that it looked great for a maiden voyage!

Not sure what I thought I read stating the speed.
There is plenty of speed left in that setup for sure!
With all that power you are getting a lot of torque and thus causing the prop walk.
I think a 3 blade prop will be a lot better for you.
Also more power = having to tune the boat a lot more to handle the speed/power output.
Any unbalance in the prop will also cause issues so making sure it is sharp and balanced is key!

A little tweak on the rudder will also help it stay straight just a degree or two.

Heres how the strut was sitting. (Please keep in mind that I had somewhere to be and I didnt have time to do anything but change the prop once) I had a 48mm graupner on there at first.
Prop walk so bad I almost couldn't drive it. Temp was cool tho. I went down to a 45mm and it still propwalked. Shoukd I maybe go with a three blade a little smaller? Where can I get 3 blade props for a .187 shaft? Really I like the carbon filled props at first so I can find the right one (ballpark anyway) then get a aluminum or bronze prop.

You have to much power for the carbon props!

Prop size is not the problem....

I wont disagree. I just don't have the time and money to buy a bunch of different metal props and work each one. Figured this way would get me close. What do you think about my strut angle and height?

This is how much I had to trim the rudder to go straight. I was out of adjustment on my radio. I just turned the servo travel down to 75%

After speaking w travis on the phone.. take the negative out of the strut and try again. Itll get there. One change at a time and after a few batteries and a bunch of adjustments youll be dialed and tearin that pond up.

Also give a little space in between the drive dog and the strut, like 1/8 inch or so... Under power your flex shaft tightens up a little bit, thus you want a little space in between.
