First scratch build - 41" Fantasm Cat

    Greetings Offshore Electric Users!

I've been a member on here for a long long time, been interested in boats but am now finally getting into it deep. I've bought plenty of the little boats (under 20") and just recently got a Miss Geico 29" Cat. After that, I'm hooked.

I wanted a bigger cat, since a lot of the lakes I run on are a little rougher than the 29" MG can handle safely without flipping. I also am big into scale look - although doesn't have to be perfect.

I picked up a 41" Fantasm Clone Cat hull from HORRacing (oh man that was a bear of an experience, delays, missing parts, etc). Looks like this:

I am using 3/16 stingers with 3/16 flex cables, counter rotating. Stingers look like such:

The props that I have, which I'd like to stick with are 48mm CNC mag props, with a total pitch of 2.65".

    I have a 6" rudder w/ pull cable setup.

What I'm trying to figure out is motor configuration. I'd really like to stick with the Seaking 180a ESC's since that's what I put into my MG29 and am familiar with that series. I also want to stick with a 4S setup but possibly have the potential to throw in a 6S for a couple short high speed runs if my mood feels like it. I'd like the 4S system to be very stable, primarily temperature where I can run it without much fear of overheating anything. I realize the 6S setup will be quite touchy and would have to let it cool between runs.

I really like the Leopard series of motors. I was thinking for what I'm looking at, the Leopard 4082 2000kv. I'm hoping for 50-60mph on 4S and whatever above that with the 6S on very occasional high speed runs.

I'd also like to try and make the 4S setup have some long run times by using either some very high mah capacity 4S packs or using 2 or 4 - 4S packs (of course in parallel). Long run times to me are 10-15minutes. I really dislike anything under 6mins.

Please let the comments and suggestions fly. Like I said, this is my first scratch build and I just want to make sure to end up with something I like and can enjoy!
