HAHA what a dunny bowl storm !!!

Hands up all those with a gps that has given a not so believable Guesstimated Potential Speed ?

in my defense this gps previously belonged a gas boater !

gps readings I posted above : hahha
How can one credit gps with accuracy when result anomalies as above are all too frequently displayed... reality check ppl

truly amazed the quantity of people who claim their gps is flawless, holding it as proof positive their "new record"...
and here they troll the displayed above are inaccurate..

SAW time traps people.. and make it official.

Hand (actually just one finger) up - I've had one suspicious GPS reading but usually if the run is plenty long I'm inclined to beleive it.

Problem with SAW timing lights is getting the ducks to coordinate at just the right time during a pass

My gps's were almost spot on give or take 1-2 mph. I checked time after time against a calibrated radar gun. It was from a good friend in the local police department so I know it was not a junk gun. I have seen some gps' s that r way off but they were out dated pos's. The only thing I did notice with most gps's is that you need a long stretch for them to get a very accurate reading. When doing short bursts some did not know what the heck to do.

This boat dosent like ducks either. Damn thing isnt content with scaring them away... seems its hell bent on swallowing one whole in mid flight too....

We know the gps was all outta whack...certainly made the run funnier! Another aussie proverb.... never let a bit of bullsh#% get in the way of a good story. :-)
          Im confused..... no...wait...mabee im not?

Any RC boat that catches a duck in flight is welcome to it

When i first started rc boating, myself and a friend had to stock Rio 51's. Gassers ( yes biggest junk boat ever lol )
Anyway, they both ran pretty much exact same speed. We put a Garmin Forerunner 201 in his boat and then put it in mine and it came up with a speed within 1-2 kph of each other.
After we got the motors modded, we did the same again, though this time his visually looked faster by a tiny bit. And the Gps reflecterd this showing his 5 or so kph faster..

So IMO for a ruff idea on speed, especially if you do say 5 runs and all the numbers are very similar then for sure its doin it.
But yes you always get a BS figure every now and then
The other day i had it on my Synergy e7 Helicopter and it read 430kph something too. I put it down to alot of cloud cover, bad sat feed.

I believe the Etrex sample rate is 5hz ( times per second )
At 100kmh(60mph) the boat would move 27.7metres(90') per second.. taking a data capture every 5.5metres or 18'.
Any variation in speed, altitude(cartwheel goes up), attitude(cartwheel rolls over), or rough water would corrupt that reading.

Ok . back to this build thread

While this NEVER HAPPENED, at a SAW time trials that NEVER HAPPENED I (only imagined this since it NEVER HAPPENED) a 48" gas shovelnose hydro at full chat beheaded an IMAGINARY duck and it's IMAGINARY head shot straight up vertically about fifteen feet. The IMAGINARY headless duck paddled to shore (only in my imagination of course).

Actually this imaginary lake has a center island/burial ground accessable only by an imaginary rescue rowboat ( not that event ever occurred)

Over here its deemed ok as long as you take it home and barbecue it. Docs boat is actually classed as micro duck processing plant.... The messy tasks are mostly done for you. Not exactly sure how he got it passed by council tho... Hey...its gotta be more humane than duck shooting? One question.. how did you teach your duck to self retrieve? Still having problems with that...

Doc, I couldve made a cowl for you faster than that postmans bike is taking to deliver it... mabee hes got a puncture??
