I believe turning performance is better with the blade behind the props.

In front of prop I think to,
Just need to set the rudder out of range of the props.
But it looks ready to go, So test that baby.
        ? ONLY IF THEY WORK

+1 Fully agree steering is better with blade behind props.
Perhaps I should have asked... "how bad is steering when in front?"

Will start with blade behind, and try other at some later stage for personal enlightenment.

How bout two smaller/shorter blades OUTSIDE props?? ...... same wet blade area would mean same drag? No? Still think rudder in aerated water wont bite as well....
              Im confused..... no...wait...mabee im not?

Richie, at speed the struts act as hydrofoils, so shortened rudder wont do, mate .. as now only 65mm below the stubshaft center..
rudder would be out of water if I trimmed them up..
That 65mm offers steering and waterpickups...

blade before or after the props is a test I'll perform
So today I spent time morphing the transom mount
                Now have
option A, blade before props :. rudder pivot 32mm behind transom, with shorter pushrod assemblies.
                or
option B., blade after props : rudder pivot 100 behind transom( as pictured previously)

Not a quick lakeside swap, but it's doable in ~60 mins

Rudder behind the props. In front it will disturb one or the other prop when turning.

OK. The rudder, when turned will divert, and disturb the flow of water toward one prop.

alright that makes sense, then that prop that's getting the extra after will push? That makes sense! Haha

The bloke making this hull and cowl has a liquification problem.
The North East coast of Australia is experiencing tornados and major heavy rainfall .. 600mm ( 24" ) of rainfall in 24hrs .. and more to arrive !

I rang this sodden fellow today, no power, no roads, water has them locked to their slightly higher than flood water property !
                                Poor bugger !

So I chose to create a temporary cowl... knowing his problems wont pass quickly.
So here is a temp jobby, just to keep the water out !

I used 2.5mm PET clear sheet, heated to formo ver the lumps and bumps, and voila' !

When the cowl arrives I will get serious about some scale appropriate decals...
