New power layout pictures
Ok here are three possible layouts. I am concerned about the weight of the new configuration using 2x 6S cells.
Opinions please.

It all comes down to the C & MHA and prop sizes to.
What C & MAH are the 3s cells you are thinking of running in that boat ?

Weight is good some times,
Some times the boat will need more weight to make it handle better and not blow over all the time.
And that = more running time to,
Try to keep setup in ceter of the hull for a lower CG,
Like in pictures 2 and 3.Last edited by lenny; 09-13-2012, 01:56 PM.Comment

Geez sure easy to miss things. I'll check hight available against dimension on site. Looks like plenty of room but need to measure it. Thanks for mentioning what should have been obvious.KartRacer ~ Dennis B

Yep the 1480kv. Now I find I need more juice. Haha. Budget, we don't need no stinking budget. LOL
Anyway moving along. Been looking for new job and tying up loose ends on old job. Should have CF/Kevlar installed tomorrow. Have to decide if I need the 6S x 2 for reasonable run time. 3 minutes won,t cut it. Have to get with Mark and upgrade order to 6S.
I certainly love all of the precision hardware. Very cool stuff indeed. May get it wet by next week.KartRacer ~ Dennis B

Installed CF/ Kevlar
Good evening
Was able to get the CF/Kevlar installed in the hull today. Cloth is a little tricky because it is not sealed just woven. You have to handle carefully and sometimes realign the threads. I am not sure if it is all like this or just where I bought it. West epoxy is very nice to use, having slow set time. Have all of my parts now except the batteries which I changed to 2 X 6S instead of the 2 X 3S as originally planned. Still need recommendation as to whether I should change the bullets from 5.5 to 6.5 on the motor. I am using 6.5 on everything else and have extra bullets.

Kart, you need to run scotch tape across edges, then cut down the middle of it. This will keep edges from fraying. Then when you lay it in, just put the scotch tape face down so it doesn't show. Do not try to remove tape, as it will just pull edges apart. SimpleComment

Nice,
I never worked with CF yet.
Glass, Yes on my manx 61 buggy,
You should be fine with the 5.5 all the way.
But 6.5 gives more head room for HV setups,
I think 5.5 is good on the cells to esc for different s cells to try from one boat to another,
To keep it easy if some one has 4s or 5s to try for cruising speeds.Last edited by lenny; 09-14-2012, 08:46 PM.Comment

Thanks Dana, Why didn't I think of that! Sometimes the answers are simple, just have to get the brain in gear. Thanks again, next build will be cleaner.
Looking for a single drive Cat, Hydro or whatever. Would like to be able to use the 6S for power as I now have a starting inventory of them.KartRacer ~ Dennis B
