I'll step in here as well, do you know exactly how fast it will be going? I didn't think so. If talking about motor choice for this hull, all I'm suggesting is to spin smaller props faster. 60-65mph for this hull is a high price to pay. It's not a cheap boat. 75+ is more realistic in this hull, and the satisfaction is much greater if you get some performance out of it. Why buy a hull like this if all you want to achieve I 60mph?.

Also I don't talk like I have quantitative experiences, but I do have this hull! And it's going over 80mph. It's not wow but it's ok. All I'm doing is sharing my experience with those who bother reading.

I was little bit browsing the internet and thought to use these motors http://www.ebay.com/itm/LEOPARD-RC-M...#ht_3835wt_932 with hobbywing HV 130A http://www.hobbywing.com/product_show.asp?id=234 on 8s each. Would I fry my esc's?

Hmm ok... I have to state I'm no expert (keeps me out of trouble) but if your honestly on a budget then the smallest setup I would recommend is:
leopard 5692-1090KV - You can shop around! but they are cheap! $140-$200 each. (email OSE for a deal on 2)
Turnigy AquaStar Monster 240A HV ESC (from hobbyking $215) or Swordfish 240A HV from OSE
This should be good for 8-10s setup. This is a tested setup by many (maybe not exact kv and cell count) but this is safe! in many cases hard to overload because of the size of this setup. Prop it right and you will get long runtimes as well. Also for the stinger setup on the MHZ 138, dont bother with 3/16. Go striaght to 1/4 and save your self the headache.

Here is the deal! Buy right the first time and save big $$ in the end.

Kent, thanks. I'll purchase the Aquastars esc since they can be easily programmed through usb using a laptop. I have this feature on my tamiya Avante with a Xerun V2 60A esc and works so easy. I have an ETTI 125A escin my 32"cat and it is a pain in the *ss to program it.

LOL, well.....if the only good advice I can give is to buy right, then so be it. Don't buy because its cheap, look ok....bla bla. Those mistakes cost big $ in normal life, do it in FE boats and and you BLOW UP money. So point is....if it cost say 20-40% more to get it right, thats money well saved. (even though you spend it) so there you go!! comedian and philosopher :)

.....But if refering to my 2280's over the 2250's I had them long before I had the MHZ138. I planned to use them for my 114 before I sold it.... so plenty big!
