Rule of thumb: wide air tunnels need more power, and a slower top end.
    I avgd 70mph on SC36" where ever it went....Sometimes edging to 80.
    The 36" narrow tunnel H&M Maritimo.. 6S1P twin1512/1800 to 88mph !

Millzee's SC42" with 2x1717/1580 on 6S2P(a side) I dont hold much hope for it.. no offense to Millzee.
Too many reason I see why it wont go well. ( 3.8kg/8lb batteries is one )

You hoping for super fast top end, or fast around a lake ?

      He everybody

See here a picture from MHZ that I get from them to help building my Mystic.
Maybe it can help you with the stingers problems.

Hey silver that looks nice, have you got pictures of the whole boat? Looks like you have the stingers adjusted more than a couple of degrees, are they pushed all the way up? What's the inside look like? More pictures Jim.

This is the dilemma and your rule of thumb is what I figured. My MG has a steep curve grabbing air at the front, thereby causing blowovers at 57 mph.It is fairly wide for it's size and only designed for....So my Shocker is wide as well but it has a very tapered tunnel to it and is good to a great speed.

Helpful solution to reduce blow overs.. add an air dam .
Find a piece of timber/plastic/something of 15x15 (1/2 x 1/2)the full width of tunnel, and place this across the tunnel 75-90mm in from front lip.
Dont make it aerodynamic, that defeats it's purpose.....
This turbulates the air flow and reduces lift at speed.
            Worked on 36" maritimo to 85+mph ...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLxCebi3i5w

Hey on the pictures was not my boat they were pictures that they sent me from MHZ to help me to build my boat and place the parts. Wish it was my boat.

See here some pictures of my boat; I just placed the stingers and now going to make the water inlets.

I don't think they are, it looks like I have a little less negative angle than silver. ( only by a bit though ) would be good to see the correct angle.

Hey Kent, how do you feel the MHZ was handling?Yeah,I'm still on the fence here.Geez, the HPR is only 11" wide and 45" long.I've read I don't know how many times about the Daytona's being too skinny.

I think it handles very well, corners nice at high speed. I would pick this hull any day over anything. Even for looks! Just have to get her fine tuned and let loose. Either I'm not looking well enough, or ppl don't like sharing that "sweet spot" on this boat. Mike has gotten this hull worked out well with a small setup. I'll get there soon enough. Really want the larger hull 1380mm. One day soon.

Fast corner no shame lol http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=uAObTBvBOGk

That's good, well set up.I don't know if my Shocker will handle that well. You got me back on your side Kent.I was looking at Andy's boats(AC Boats) locally here but the gassers don't look that great. Now if we can figure out this stinger problem I'll be full on the band wagon. The 1380 wagon

HA! sounds good, lets not call it the stinger problem yet. As far as I know, no one has confirmed this to be a problem. There is still alot to play around with re COG and props. Sadly I know very little about this boat. Of all the threads I have read, no one mentiones anything about stingers, or stingers having to be modified. The "SMALL" MHZ Mystic had problems, it was confirmed many times, and mods had to be made. Maybe some of the MHZ owners would like to chime in :)

                              Hello Everyone,
After alot of thinking I have desided to build the 1380mm version of this boat and make use of my Lehners and other parts. For me to do that I have to let go of this one I can't keep both! Its sad but untill she sells I cant start the other project. She will be in the for sale section shortly. If she dont sell in a short time I will keep her for sure and not bother with a larger build. But I would love to start a new thread -
