What kind of mess was left when you heated your prop shaft to replace the flex?I have a small one that I am contemplating doing.

I'm definetly keen to try out in the bigger lake! You need that no doubt. I'm sure you need wot for 4sec or so, in the small lake I get 1.5 if I'm lucky. In terms of batteries, I'm not sure if there is a weak link there, but I'm using nanotech 6s 5000mha 65c~130c (advertised) so they should be ok? The runtime should be shorter? Maybe I'm pulling enough amps.
The moment it clears water and starts to sing you back off ..
And I repeat ad nauseum until a rpm logger shows different.. your motors are not revving to 6S@1580kv max rpm.

Hardly any mess, I heated the flex cable first "around the area it attaches to the shaft" then slowly twisted it around until loose, I didnt really heat the shaft as I didnt want to miscolour the shaft. It hardly left any mess but I rolled up some sand paper and spun it around the inside of the shaft. Got a shaft from the Doc. works a treat. Hardly any flex in the drive! and very strong.Visit www.customcfparts.com | Custom Boat Building | Custom Carbon Fiber Parts | Custom Graphics | LMT Premium Dealer | MGM Premium Dealer | YouTube | Facebook

Must be that bad finger Doc. I know I should just hammer it from the beginning. dont like the concrete edges much. "kinda makes me nerveus" I find with the new props it dont get up in speed well and it dont brake well either!!! I'm sure if I can hold WOT for a bit longer and get COG right it should owe me 130km/h on that setup. Looking at the German setups, they are a bit bumpy up to 130 ish' then they get stable and "FLY" seem to be tuned to that specific speed. Again they are running around 1900kv motors on 8s, so serious RPMVisit www.customcfparts.com | Custom Boat Building | Custom Carbon Fiber Parts | Custom Graphics | LMT Premium Dealer | MGM Premium Dealer | YouTube | Facebook

My much wider sprintcat aired out earlier and then 'flew' .. narrow hulls like yours need more speed to get air..then they're rockets.
You have footage on youtube of mine at ~80kms doing a perfect airborne level flight... yours is set to be wet
re: longer to speed up, longer to slow down .. welcome to rc boats, bud !

Anyone figured out the deal with the stingers? do they have to be 0 degrees or a couple degrees negative? would be good to know, that way we only have to worry about COGVisit www.customcfparts.com | Custom Boat Building | Custom Carbon Fiber Parts | Custom Graphics | LMT Premium Dealer | MGM Premium Dealer | YouTube | Facebook

I was told it works that way for most cats, the big question here is......do you have to modify the orriginal stingers at all? is having them pusched all the way up the right way? looks like the small mystic had some problems with stingers.Visit www.customcfparts.com | Custom Boat Building | Custom Carbon Fiber Parts | Custom Graphics | LMT Premium Dealer | MGM Premium Dealer | YouTube | Facebook

Good to hear you are making progress. Please keep up posted with pictures as you go along. with the ESC you can get away with Seaking/Turnigy 180 if you want to run your Leopards on 5s-6s. Alot of people have had great results with that. Really depending how much you want to spend. It does get expensive if you buy something and then change your mind. Good advice.....buy right from the start "what you really want" Saving money will cost you money in the long run. I know I'm a bad example but.....I went from Leo's to Castle to Lehner, why not just buy the Lehners?? (not because any of them were bad, I just wanted the Lehners) same deal with ESC's. I'm running the Castle 1717's for now, I still have a long way to go before I'm ready for the Lehners. Anyway hope you get her in the water for summer.Visit www.customcfparts.com | Custom Boat Building | Custom Carbon Fiber Parts | Custom Graphics | LMT Premium Dealer | MGM Premium Dealer | YouTube | Facebook

Kent, mine are up a bit(i know they're different hulls/stingers).When they are down they lift the aft and cause the front of the sponson to hook in a corner but they pushed off the line better.
Tiqueman said his HPR doesn't handle very well at all over 50.So now I'm looking at Aeromarine gas hulls for the handling but they don't have a proper aft section.Comment

Hiya Srislash
HPRs do handle well when setup for speed.. however they do not like turning fast on rough/race water .( they roll over and play dead ! )
Aeromarine Sprintcat40 ( 36") are brilliant 60-70mph hulls.
Rough/race water is great.. smooth water is good but not as much fun to drive!
I fit stingers to each sponson... some ppl use 2xstruts in middle, but you'll find the wider spaced stingers give better top end (aired out)
stability.
There's a build thread here, somewhere.
