The only issue requiring some attention is the battery placement. As it is now, turnigy nanotech 5000s will need to set more than an inch back from the tub front. Either a different cowl or a less downturning deck are two options I see...

Jesse, I discussed this with Todd today. You really should not worry about the packs being back an inch or more from the front. It is not an issue. I had the same issue with the Sport 20 p-limited hull with a 4s1p 5000mah 35c hyperion pack. You should dry fit your hardware and electronics, and put any needed lead in the nose of the sponsons before installing the top deck of the sponsons. I think you will find it doesnt need much. With the power you guys are running, a little weight will not hurt a thing. Take my word for it, the CoG on the sport 20 limited was set to the trailing edge of the skid fin...You will have TONS of range of CoG to work with! Give it a try with the cowling like it is first, it will be fine.

On another note, more progress pics:

Dry fitted some hardware this evening, and test fitted the equipment in my personal Sport 40...TONS of room! Mike

I'll give her a try as you say. So another question: why did you not design in rear nontrips? Most hydros have em and was wOnderng what the design thinking was.

Jesse, Why does the boat need them? The whip doesn't use them and the boat this hull design was mimicked after did not use them, the '88 U-21 Eliminator. Lots of hydros don't use them. You keep the tail end up, it should never be an issue. The testing I did showed no issues either with the non trips being vertical. Now if the sponsons were vertical instead of having non trips, that would be an issue. Just like the JAE 21 is an issue in rough water with its sponson non trips. Talk soon, Mike

Cool, I figured you had thought about it and am always keen to learn. I was not implying that it did need them, just curious. Thanks!

Oh no, I definately did not take it that way! It was a hard one to answer, haha. You are right, a lot of hulls have them, and some don't! Talk soon, Mike

More done, and as you can see the first 20L and 40 hulls are rolling off the assembly line. I hope to have them both in the water in the next couple weeks! Enjoy, Mike

Looks great Mikey. Are you going to be able to fit 6S2P in the 40 boat without screwing up the CG?
