You will have to reach speeds of 70 mph to keep up with gas Whiplash. Is this doable?

That class is allways pretty crowded so rough water will be expected.

Are you talking gasoline Whips Detox? I'm talking running with Sport 40's with a 45 nitro motor and similar sized hull.

Yes I was, but my mistake. Everybody knows a FE sport 40 cannot keep up with a gas Whiplash...........or can it?

Sounds Great Chilli! I plan on having a sport 20, 20L, and 40 available to race this year, and a tunnel. Detox, The sport 20 will be tested in the 70mph range. The Gas Sport 48" hydro will also be set to run in that range. If not, then they will not be offered. I want the 5 sizes to be the best, and if it takes more design work, then so be it! Mike

The builds start now! I will post pics as things get done! I am probably going to do a separate thread for this, so it is a full on instruction manual. I will ask people do not do quotes of the pics. Only pure replys so a bunch of extra pics are not being duplicated and confusing. Enjoy the builds! By the way, the sport 20L design is done, and ready for orders, along with the sport 40. I have heard a lot of guys are sitting back waiting for the 20L to be released, well, that time as come! Thanks, Mike

There is now an instruction manual started in this Boat building forum. It was started tonight, and covers the sponsons so far. I hope to do the center section tomorrow or friday. Please follow the guidelines at the top of the thread as I think it will help keep that thread nice and clean! Maybe Diegoboy could make that a sticky at the top of the page???? Thanks, Mike

I've got you covered Mike. I will be happy to stick the thread, as it is a true build thread that belongs in this section. I will also keep the thread clean too.

Excellent write up on the sticky build thread. FINALLY, a detailed build sheet WITH lots of pictures. The icing on the cake is the discussion of glueing/build techniques to make the build go smoother. This is helpful to those (like me) who may have never built a wood boat before. I might sign up for one of these boats soon. Just wanted to encourage you to keep up the good work.

Jesses, sorry for the late reply. I did receive your payment, thank you! Thanks electric, i am trying to envision the build instructions as if this was my first build ever, mentally planning every step. The funny thing is, even after the last couple of years building tunnels, i still plan out every move! Its a good habit to have. I will start the center section later today. Last two days i had some other things to take care of. Keep ya posted!

Sorry for the build thread delay. My wife found out she has to start working out of town in 2 weeks as she picked up a managers job (Thank God), and we have been scrambling all weekend, and even today to find a car that gets good mileage and get rid of her 4runner. I hope tomorrow can get back to normal, and continue the build. Thanks for the patience, Mike

Well, we got a 2010 subaru legacy 5 days ago, and tonight it was rear ended. Just got home for the night from that fiasco. None the less, i finished the pics for the manual friday, wanted to post tonight, it will now be tomorrow. Should be very helpful, Mike
