Battle, I got you on the list for the 20L.
Meniscus, I have not actually checked where it shows up for CG, why?Laser cut, birch plywood rc race boat kits- WWW.MLBOATWORKSRC.COM WWW.DINOGYLIPOS.COM

OK, so I am going to order a bulk amount of sport 20 kits tomorrow, and start laying up cowlings in the new mold. I want to get enough kits to cover most of those that want just a kit, and some to start building. I can't swing much more than that out of pocket until I get some money coming in from these first sales. I have a delivery of boxes also arriving tomorrow. So as soon as the kits arrive, I hope to have all my ducks in a row to turn around the initial order very fast! Well, to be perfectly honest, I was trying to figure out when you scale it down, what adjustments might have to be made to run 2s2p in the N class and then make assumptions regarding the lift generated by the deadrise of the sponsons. I know it sounds silly, but I'm thinking that unless you are planning to make changes to the top when you scale it down, the extra proportionate weight might be an issue. Note that I'm not questioning anything related to your design as it seems to be very viable for the application. Rather, trying to make my own conclusions regarding what will have to be done for the smaller size considering layout, CG balance, and strut depth which could possibly change the good geometry you've got going now in the larger version. At the same time, if someone was to run 2s1p, would that also present issues to the same effect.
For anyone else, I probably would have just answered "just curious", but for you, I figure I'll give you the honest response.
Personally, I commend your efforts to add more competition in the sport hydro or full bodied hydro arena. I especially think it is great that you are considering the smaller guys too! Love your work and look forward to seeing much more of it.IMPBA: 7-Time FE World Record Holder "Don't think outside the box. Rather, refuse to admit that the box exists in the first place!"

Meniscus,
That is a very very good way to view the situation. I myself was sondering about that too. The good thing is the boat seems to run better and better as I remove lead from the front of the center section. My goal is to put it on the board, figure out where the CoG is, then remove all the lead from the center section, and place more at the sponson tips. Not only will this be more effective due to leverage, but when someone builds their hull around the UL-1 setup, they can put just enough lead in the sponson tips to get the hull close to where it needs to be. This will minimize extra weight because of better leverage, hide it so we don't have to look at it, and it will free up about 3/4" at the nose of the center section to push the batteries and motor forward if desired, further helping CoG! Lots of options to knock out 1-4oz of overall weight! Thanks for posting you question as I think it will benefit everyone knowing a good starting point! 12 kits were ordered yesterday, and I have laid up 4 cowlings already. I should have plenty of cowlings by the time the order arrives. I am going to get 9 kits out to kit buyers, and build 3 hulls to start with. As soon as the money comes in for these kit orders, I will reorder some more kits to push the builds and the rest of the kit order along. Here is the current list of all Sport boats people were wanting. Thanks,Mike

Been watching and I'm full of anticipation :)
Do you have a rough estimate of when you think the first batch of builds will be complete? And will you be keeping one of the first 3, or would I be included in that?
Just trying to figure out my finances for it and see if I need to bump myself down the list a little or not :/
Also, I may have a couple special requests for my build if you could contact me when you get closer to building mine to see what's possible. Thanks :)

Is the sport 20 kit built on a flat surface like building a whip 20? Is the difficulty similar? I didn't find anything too hard building the whip except the top was easier with 2 people, for me that is, as I'm always sitting.
Would be a nice back-up hull if I trash one of my spec hydro's.
Much nicer tape down then my Whip 20.Nortavlag Bulc

Hey Guys,
The first 3 builds will be for the first 3 guys on the list! Remember, I already built one for myself, so I am good for now! I will definately contact you before I start. If anyone else has any requests, just let me know. You can PM me those requests as well and I will put them in my build file on my computer so I know exactly what needs to be done!
Thank you Danny for explaining the sizes!
Ray, This boat builds easier than a whip 20. It is built in 3 peices, then bonded together. You build each sponson on a flat board, and then the center section on a flat board, then put the sponsons on the center! Easy to do. Took me only about 5.5hours to build the first kit, and that was doing some design changes while building. Those are all incorporated into the kits now, so its easy. I will be posting a full on build thread soon. Thanks guys, MikeLaser cut, birch plywood rc race boat kits- WWW.MLBOATWORKSRC.COM WWW.DINOGYLIPOS.COM

Hey Mike,
Will 2 4s and 1 2s pack fit in the T-4? My dealer out here wants to order my packs for me. He wants to go with Thunder Power packs. He is the one that set up our race schedule for the year. He also thinks that I will be a top boat at FE nationals this year. Hope all your projects are going well. Know you are super busy.Comment

Ray, The sport 40 kit will depend mostly on the amout of wood it takes. The kit, with frames, skins and cowling, I would like to keep under $200. I have to confirm just how much ply it will take when I get the design done! It could be less.
Todd, good talking to you this morning!
