OK... waiting on parts now. Ouch my wallet hurts. Will update more later.

Got to learn quite a bit about the drive assemblies and cross my eyes a bit at a metric/decimal/fraction conversion chart today.

I'm setting up stingers & stuff for another project, so just picked up the replacement 4mm hard shaft and some 3/16" tubing to adapt some props. Every thing else I have is 4mm, so keeping them all the same.

@Alfa- that's the setup I'm going with. Have it on two boats aready. (w/different nut & spacer)

Wish everybody in the world would just go metric. /rant

I'm sure the cooling can and ESC's will be here by the time the parts arrive, so I'll just skip to the end and start configuring the final Apparition setup with the 4s 2p 30c 180a/2200kv-1515/1y. Not sure on the final prop configuration, but ~45-50 MPH is my goal. I read M455, but not sure what that is or where to find it and it doesn't google well. =)

They have a 2 and a 3 blade M455. @forescott, which one were you referring to?

I didnt know Octura had a 3 blade M455... but it wouldnt matter how many blades. It would show though as either a M455 or a M455/3. Same size same pitch, just an added blade. As I said before, 4 means 1.4 pitch and the last 2 numbers are diameter. M is the detonged cut.

So for example a 442, 1.4 pitch 42mm. A 642, 1.6 pitch , 42mm, etc etc. Thats how Octura works anyways. Each manufacturer has thier own unique system.

Nice. I like this. Good numbering systems are priceless.
I've got a nylon 2 & 3 blade assortment coming. Both of the HOTR prop assortments for testing.

I think you will have nice result on 4S with Octura X442 or X642, you can try Prather S-220 too.
My setup will be 6S and 1500kV FSD 540XL brushless motor. The cat isn' t finished yet and I have those propellers:

              Graupner K42
              Graupner K45
              Octura X442
              Octura X445
              Octura X437/3
              Octura X642
              Octura M545
              Prather S-220
              Prather S-225
              GrimRacer 40x53/3
              GrimRacer 40x57/3
              HOTR 443

Do you think that I will find the best prop for my setup?

                  I think I said m445. Which is 1.4 pitch and 45mm diameter. Not m455. And mine is a 2-blade.

Ya said 455, but I'll let it go. Thanks for clarifying! I almost bought the 455 prop!

Used a lower rated ESC and booo ya! 90 degree temps at basically the same speed and longer run time!

Just an FYI- HOTR plans to have the twin motor Apparition in stock in a few weeks. Hobbycity will probably have some too. =)

I haven't quite decided if I want to go twin with this or just get one already setup as a twin.

For now, still planning on going with the 4s 180/2200 & M445 prop.

If the can fits, RUN IT!

This BARELY clears the hull and the hatch. I added a rubber spacer to the hull under the can to absorb any vibration and any potential wear should the can slip down. That way it won't touch the fiberglass.

The plan is to start with a small 36-38mm twin blade and work up from there. I don't anticipate any troubles from this setup.
