YES! On the progran card you must set it for 6s. Not the cutoff but it has a setting to recognize the voltage you are running. I had mine setup to run 5s in my mono, then switched the esc to my hydro on 4s and was getting about half throttle. Program them for 6s and your speed will double!!

      Rumdog,
thanks, I hope this is one of my problems, is this able to be progrqammed manually? or only with the programming card?

Is the programming card the one from Hobby City?

      Thanks for the help...Tim.

I bought my 180 from sailr. here on ose. He was selling them with the card. I'd put money on it that that's your problem. It can probably be done manually.

As mentioned earlier, can you spin the props (very) freely? 40 mm props even on a low timming setting shouldnt be this slow at all..

Wolf, shaft spin nicely, plenty of lube, soin really freely, there's not much of a bend in them either, I made it very gradual.

Rumdog, what does the Programming Card look like, can you please post a photo? I have PMed Sailr about the card.

            Thanks...Tim

                      Well,
just home from testing the Maritimo, re-programmed the ESC's, I think the biggest differnce is that I selected 6 Cell Lipo's, before it was on auto detect, there must be some confusion with this as now the boat has come alive.

Very punchy on the throttle and heaps quicker, gps only read 76kph, but thats due to very short quick runs in the dam I was using, I can confidently say it is now where I wanted it to be last weekend, now I just need to work on COG and strut angles so I can actually hold the throttle on to get a good speed reading.....and find a bigger dam.

                      Very Very Happy,

also I chewed up both sets of carbo props, 40mm and 45mm, time to order some metal ones, start with X442 L&R.

I cannot stop smiling, it gave me a huge rush to see it rocking along as it should.

Thanks for all of the suggestions, especially Rumdog as it is this thatI think fixed it.

                      Cheers.....Tim.

                          Bonewar,
yep I am a lot happer now. I adjusted the struts a bit far and the COG was too far back, when I had full throttle only for a second it started to lift and I had to back off, geve me a good rush driving it though, so I will now try and run on the weekend.

                            Fruity,

Just curious, where do you have your cog set to.
Also how have you got your struts set. What is the weight of the finished cat.
                            Thanks mate.

                                Guys,
Finished Cat ready to chuck in the water with GPS etc. weighs in at a heafty -- 5.2 kg.

Probably too much, but I will see how we go.

Strut Angle is now set at -0.5 degree's, COG will be around the 32cm, this I will play with though.

I am feeling the need to start a log book ore something so I can get some data on where the best performance is coming from.

This weekend I will give it a run.

                                Cheers...Tim.
