Not sure how much the hull weigh but it's allright and des not feel too heavy. They might have the specifications on the Aeromarine website.

The gelcoat has some defects and I heard the same from two people recently...... I have also bought a hull from china recently for 1/3 the price and has a better quality gelcoat......

By another hull, I am guessing not a scale offshore V? Haven't seen any of those other than some of the bat style boats. Looking for more the classic offshore ciggarette or scarab hull, 24" to 30". Have a dumas 30", but it is 2.2 lbs without a hatch.

Looks great! I added the thru hull Steve has here on OSE in my SV27. Made a world of difference on the motor cooling as the rudder just didnt seem to be cuttin it. It has the upgraded jacket, but was still getting a bit warm. The thru hull kept it more than 10 degrees cooler. It scrubbed very little to no speed from the hull.

I've decided not to add the waterpick up for now and see how it goes.....

While the Gundert pickup are nice I don't trust myself to mount it properly at the bottom and don't feel comfortable about drilling the bottom of the hull I did intall one on my first build and it was a near disaster..... Still have the boat and use it for fun.....

Did most of the watercooling today and will hopefully finish it tomorrow......

Was hoping to test run the boat this coming weekend but I realise that I'll need an extension cord to connect the ESC and the receiver. Will get that online with other stuff and that might take some time.....

Anyway looks like the SV27 will see the action this weekend. Did a couple of mod with the trim tabs and added weight. Will see how it goes....

          Cheers

The gundert. Not really flush though. It sticks down a bit.

              Here is the latest update:

I did all the water plumbing and has intalled the battery tray.

Need to do some finishing touch but I guess most of the hard work (and fun!) is completed.

I did test the motor for 5-10 seconds today and nothing was happening..... I just could hear beep-beep and that's it.....

I did realise that this particular ESC does not have a BEC and I have to power receiver. Luckily I have a spare battery holder and a cover for it

Now I'm just waiting for the glue to dry.

              Below are some pictures:

Originally I wanted to mount my electric outboard motor on the hull and changed my mind. The outboard will probably on my chinese hull.....

While waiting for the glue to dry I am mucking around with my micro helicopter. Best $30 I've spent and I can play everyday in my living room.

              Enjoy

                    About searching the cog :

it doesn't matter if the boat is laying on its side !
The cog is in the lenght of the hull.

So ; the easiest way to determine the cog :

boat laying on the table, slide it towards the edge of the table, at the point where the hull
will fall from the table/ lift its nose , THERE is your cog. ( And of course this works for cats aswell :-) )

                      Gerwin

Love the idea for the CoG. Very simple but brilliant Will try that tomorow with all my boats......

The outboard is custom a nitro conversion to electric, with a home made fibreglass cover. The only commercially brushless outboard available at the moment (at OSE) is the Graupner GTX 820. Very nice piece and looks similar to the 3.5 K&B nitro outboard.....

The original plan was to mount it on a Hydro & Marine F1 hull. It was to be semi scale and very fast...... The communication with the US seller was the least weird. After getting a quote from him he did not seem interested to sell me the hull anymore..... I suspect that he did not have it in stock....... I also read some mixed reviews about his business practices on some forums.....

Thus I got the Challenger 31" from OSE (thanks Steve!!!) for the outboard. And while shopping for some parts I found a nice catamaran hull perfect for this outboard project. I'm planning to make another hatch with a scale cockpit and driver......

That's a bit the story of that boat.....

See pictures below for my next project....

                      Cheers

                          Ok

Boat had maiden voyage and ran great.

Not superfast but fast enough for me and the crowd that was gathering around me. It definitely is a crowd puller, does handle chop well and is pretty stable on the water.

One thing that I wanted to change was the driver and co driver. They do look too grumpy for this fun boat......

Finally got a nice driver and his companion.

Actually it took me like 30 minutes to decide to buy them from the shop as I was embarassed to go to the counter to buy them.

Anyway I've cut them in half, mounted them on a wood plate and glue with epoxy.

Just waiting for the glue to dry....

                          Cheers

Hey Jerome, how she run? I am curious as I took mine out yesterday and was amazed at how high out of the water she ran - even with the strut 1/2" above base of transom. Any vids?

I have a complete set of pilots from a Key Biscayne Graupner (30" hull) That should be perfect for your Challenger, better than "action men" but.... I an in France
