What make of flex shaft. It sounds like you have a metric design

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty with your nuts...

That being said, are they made by the same manufacturer?

I recently had an issue with prop shafts that were a hair too large to get the drive dog to slip over. I ended up doing some very very light filing on the inside of the drive dog to make it work. Understand, it wasn't much of a difference and I used almost no pressure.

Maybe you really have a 5mm shaft?

can't be bigger ones because he says they start to screw on, but then get very tight. If he went up in size on the nut, it would likely just slip right over the threads.

A 3/16 shaft will have either M5 or 10-32 threads. If you take a 10-32 nut and try to put it on an M5 screw, you get the exact result he describes.

ok I found an m5 nut and it went on smooth as silk

next potential problem the nut is a nylon lock nut with a built on washer...this washer and the nut for that matter is a larger diameter than the shaft of the prop itself.....could this be a problem
