Bottom line is after 4 years of Obama, the country will be more racially divided than it has been in the last 30 years. It's already starting and he hasn't been in a year.

I guess I should have cried out racism when I had to score 500 more points on my SAT to qualify for entrance to the college of my choice than classmates of a different racial persuasion.......and we all took the same courses........

Oh.....I forgot, that wasn't racism.........if was affirmative racism.....I mean affirmative action..

Why do you feel the country will be more racially divided than it currently is? If you do indeed have to get 500 more points on your SAT's to qualify for entrance, I would question that. Affirmative action was designed to level the playing field for minorities of equal qualifications. Unfortunately some do take it a little too far. In addition, racism is a very real and ugly part of our society. In this day and age, people are still judged by the color of their skin and their cultural heritage. For those who are racially biased are doing a great disservice to those who are not.

It has been taken way to far. The company I work for can not even consider hiring a white male that is more qualified for the job unless the minorities decline the position.

Agreed. Alot of that comes from fear and misunderstanding of the laws. The way I feel about this is, If you don't like someone based on their skin color, religion, cultural heritage or any of the other protected groups. That's your decision and live with it. But don't bring it to work and/or use it as a way of hindering someones progress. If people did that, perhaps we wouldn't need these kind of laws. I've worked with racists myself from both sides. But at work, we were all just one people...screwed.

The best thing I have heard is one managers opinion that everyone should come dressed as a clown for the interview.

Something to consider here is liability, on the officers part. He confronts a man with no proper identification, and then the man becomes belligerent. Now I am thinking no matter the color the officer has to control the situation, if for no other reason to avoid escalation.

My one question is, how does one return from a flight to china.....and NOT have proper ID?

Airport security these days is pretty tough.....

Professor Gates has a position at Harvard University that warrants his silly behaviour. He has stoked the fires of racism rather than diminishing them. I am sorry but this guy should be removed from his post as he is a racist. Do not forget there were two officers present one white, one black

I thought this had been resolved. Obviously, these two guys had a different perception of the situation. They amicably agreed to disagree. What I don't understand is, the guy felt some type of discriminatory act. He was there. We weren't. Now he is the racist? What is the rationale behind that statement?
