It looks like momma gets what momma wants doesn't it. If I had a boat like that my wife would not be driving it. That might be why my wife is never happy but driving fast boats is not for w*m*n. Hell, my wife is not safe in the bath without a PFD.

I can not believe how fast the Toxic Rocket is off the line....thanks Paddy and remember to keep June happy with a greased shaft and you may enjoy it also, if it takes more than 30 seconds.

The story she always gives me Douggie is my 2 hour shaft is too much for her 2 minute catamaran.

Thanks for posting it again Chuck as I had not seen it before. Those drag boats and drivers are something else. 5 second quarter miles take some doing on land but on water it is a whole new ball game.
I think it would be fantastic if we could feel what it is like to ride in our little FE boats. The acceleration is incredible when you think they go from sitting still to maximum speed in a very short distance. A well setup rigger must exert incredible forces on the hull in a sharp turn. Watching a hydroplane dancing around a corner is something else.
For myself learning never ceases with model boats. A few weeks ago I took my Xzess 2 to the lake thinking I would blow either the motor or esc. Running 4s on a 1515 0.5 Y motor should have ended in disaster but I come home with everything still working and a new fastest ever speed (86.99 mph)for any of my boats. Seems funny I did that in my oldest and smallest serious boat. The Drambuie On Rice has taught me a lot about setting up a Catamaran and the raw power of the utterly fantastic Neu 2215 motor. If I can keep this baby on the water I see no reason why it wont do 80 mph in that big hull. I am thinking of building my own rigger and putting one of these big motors in it. I would love a purpose built BBY Liftmaster rigger but as we will be building a new house soon that is out of the question. Maybe I can talk Randy into building me some SAW sponsons and I will build my own tub.

I heard somewhere the force on the turn fin on some of these high volt fe oval riggers is up over 5 g's...Dont ask me how they measured it but i've seen some seriously thick alloy fins bend!!!!!! Sounds quite possible seeing those redbull air racers pull over 9..... Crazy

Yeah I think you are on the money with the 5 g's. I think it is measured by how many glasses of Scotch you can drink before you can't take the turn
Some will try to tell you it is 5 times the force of gravity but I think the Scotch method is more accurate. I mean, at 5 glasses your are going to have problems even seeing the corner if you leave the Coke out. Well Douggie would be one exception. That guy could probably consume a whole bottle and take the corner without even as much as blinking an eye. For him we would have to revert to the force of gravity method.

                      EagleTree have a G-Force sensor with 3axis.
Mine read 7+ in a p-hydro cornering at wot... 'on rails' ( broken soon afterwards though.. tore big fin from small sponson )

G force quantification of speed Vs direction change...
but I prefer Paddy's scotch definition .... more u drink Vs harder to corner.!

Paddy, you are correct, I never pilot my boats without at least a bottle of you know what but I am disapointed when I open the hatch and found out from my gps system that the maximum speed was 5 mph. I may have to buy a Scottish gps system that will reveal my true boating attributes. I believe that Lagavlin make a very NEAT system.
