I'm off work for a week now and that means no pond time too
Picture this : Hard butternut pumpkin, top of the line kitchen knife, a lot of pressure to split the said vegetable...........LH middle finger gets in the way
15mm back from the tip it goes in and stops at the bone, luckily as that knife will go through small (finger size) bones too with that much pressure.
No pics but a good story to come laterSee it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with woodComment

My neighbour near wet himself when I showed him, only fair as I was over there to ask if I could borrow the neat neoprene arm sling his wife used recently when her wrist was broken.
I'll get a pic if I can when the dressing is changed tomorrow.
Trust me I have seen cuts and blood, especially my own but this one really gave me a fright. A bit more pressure or a little further forward and I would deffo have been flipping someone a sparrow instead of a proper bird.
All good now anyway.See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with woodComment

A Warning For Anyone With Diabetes
Guys I took my yellow BBY rigger to the lake yesterday. There were quite a few people there from the Police and Citizens Youth Club having a picnic. "Great" I thought. A chance to show off an FE boat in front of a crowd does not happen often at my lake. Right from the first sign of a rooster tail I could hear them with their "Bloody hell look at that thing go" remarks.
After the second run I walked out into the water to get the boat and as I leaned down to pick it up I immediately felt myself going to pass out. The next thing I can remember is that I could not breath air into my lungs. I had no sense of where I was or what was happening but just the thoughts of not being able to breath. A few seconds later I came to my senses and realized that two men were holding my top half up out of the water and I was coughing water out of my mouth. Thank goodness there was people at the lake or I may have been dead now.
I had spoken to DrW and Andym during the course of the evening and both advised me to see a Doctor. Later in the evening I spoke with my daughter on the phone and she reminded me that I was a diabetic and what had happened was that I became Hypoglycemic or in other words my blood sugar level went very low. I have so few problems with my diabetes that I had overlooked the obvious. I had not eaten all day and had a few glasses of water and nothing more.
You can bet I will be eating before my next trip to the lake and sucking on a Coke just to make sure this does not happen again.
Wayne thanks for the email with advice from your friend. I will follow up on the advice both you and Andy gave me to see a doctor.Several boats in various stages of destructionComment

What horrifies me the most from this tale, is that you forgot you were diabetic.
November 7th 2010 heralded 32 years of insulin dependent diabetes for me, mate.
And with diabetes revealed, let me say your declared dietary intake is woeful !
Dont think it offensive to ask for help, mate.
As my colleague said last night.. silly Git.
ps. caffeine boosted energy drinks ( including coke ) conceal sensation of hypos .. the caffeine keeps you buzzing long after the sugar has gone.Wayne Schutte PhdCSE BaSE BaEE. Australian, & damn proud of itYOUTUBE

The one thing that will get me to a doctor is the smell of that pussy called Maratimo that a certain good Doctor told me about last night. I want to live to see that thing on the water.Several boats in various stages of destructionComment

Seriously, I thank you for that mate and I will take the walk to get it. I have been planning on taking care of my health in another 3 years when I retire. That way the Aussie taxpayers can spend the $200,000 to fix this tired and broken body up and get it ready for death.
Love ya WSeveral boats in various stages of destructionComment
