119 kph or 73.94 mph on 3s lipo
Well guys I took my little modified Xzess 2 rigger to the lake this morning and was I in for a surprise.
First let me tell you that the last time I took it to the lake it found the only hard object (a 3 foot square of concrete) on the entire northern bank and severely damaged one sponson (the one with the Packers girl with the counter rotating Andym's). The main hull had some damage too. It has been repaired but I have not even sanded the epoxy back yet. The main reason to take it to the lake was to see if it had any leaks
The first run was a little off course so I never hit full throttle but it came back with the GPS showing 113 kph and I knew I had struck gold. Next run was straight down the line that leads between the island and the northern bank. I squeezed that trigger all the way and that little sucker was flying. There was no sign of it lifting the nose. I turned it around slowly (no turn fin) and lined her up for the run back to me. Man that little bugger looks good coming at ya. I looked down and could not believe the 119 kph that I was looking at on the GPS. I reset the GPS just to make sure it was correct and next run it showed 119 kph again.

    Setup was...
Xzess 2 modded, Neu 1515 0.5Y, 3s Turnigy nano-tech 5000mAh, Andym Very Special X642, Hydra 240 lv and a Tasmanian that is all bloody smiles at the moment. Andy what can I say except thanks again for your brilliance with props and your friendship.

    BTW there were no leaks

For some reason this was not a good picture but I added it anyway.

Thanks but without the awesome props from Andy and advice from the people on this forum I would probably still be stuck in the high 50 mph area. The best thing I ever did to this hull was to cut the winglets off it. Before that it was so hard to stop it blowing over. The problem is the hull has had so many accidents, fires and blow overs I am not sure how much longer it will go on at these speeds. I must see if I can get another Xzess 2 and retire this one. I had electric boats before this one but I would have to say it was my first fast electric hull.

Love that boat on your avatar.

Top shiate there young Paddy !!

That is some serious speed with less than serious power. I am impressed and inspired.

Given what you said a while ago I now think I will push my mid size rigger further and shelve the XS-3 copy. Hmmm lots to think about.

Well done Paddy and well done to Andy for supplying great water throwers.
            See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with wood

Thanks Simon. Yeah Andy is the one with the brains and the props and I am the one with the love of speed that keeps me searching for more.
If only H&M had of reworked the Xzess 2 and forgot all about the Xzess 3. Getting rid of the winglets has allowed me to change the AoA and get rid of the lead weight in the nose and now I run my Lipo that far back it touches the motor.
I must see what I can do on 2s next. That 1515 0.5Y will run well on 2s going by the 4400 Kv specs it is still going to be spinning at 32,560 rpm give or take a few. Probably could run a bigger prop on 2s but I will see what the Mistro says about that.

I tried it out before it left here and it mopped up quite well. Would be good if you gave it a few goes just to make sure Douggie is going to be happy with it when he gets it. It would have been a good thing to use instead of the curtains that time with your missus.
