Several boats in various stages of destruction -
I was around 17 when I heard this told .... by a shriveled up toothless old fella who was shouted endless beer for his yarns ... sitting around an open fire somewhere very non suburban
it's one of the few tales that stuck inside my head.
Apologies if it's changed over these last 30 years.. I only ever heard it the once !!
[ I grab my second pint, take a few sips...then start this tale...]
In the back of donga country there's a tale the old folks tell
'bout this bloke whose name is famous in the town of Bungadell
If ya want I'll tell you a little about this town
cripes, she's a dry and dusty place to be until the rains come down.
But the hero of our story was soon to help them out
That's the day McArthur farted, and saved the town from drought.
[sip]
Now in 1927 it hadnt rained for weeks
there was bulldust in the billabongs and dead sheep in the creeks.
Bungadell was hard and dry like a three week stale old crust
the sheep was drinking whiskey and their piss had turned to dust.
But they had a stack o water bout a mile outside o town
enough to drink for 3 whole years but not a drop come down.
So they sent this deputation up to see what could be wrong
found they had a problem hadnt reckoned on.

You'd reckon they could shift it, but bloody thing was jammed.
Fifty blokes with crowbars bashed it fifty days and nights
but they couldnt shift the bastard, she was stuck there good and tight.
They blasted it with dynamite and couldnt get it loose
and even Murphy's bullock team just wasnt any use.
[sip]
There's one last hope for us ! cried Clancy's brother Blue
we'll hafta get McArthur and sees what he can do.
So the cry went up McArthur ! hes the one who knows the art
he could send that horse there flying with one well constructed fart !
So the townsfolk all waited for the day to come about
that's the day McArthur farted, and saved the town from drought.

Now no one knew too much about this joker from the scrub
Tho we'd all heard yarns about him from the drovers in the pub.
Some said he came from Bunkers Run, some from Beulah park
but one thing they agreed on, he sure knew how to fart !
So the townsfolk all waited for the day to come about
the day McArthur farted, and saved the town from drought.
sip sip sip..
McArthur came riding in on two horses with half his bum on each
a bum so big a bloke could drive a tram fair tween those cheeks.
Mac was a quiet bloke, but thorough through and through
he said I need some food and drink, so sees what yous can do.
So they started preparations and laid out a mighty spread
with a pile of prunes and onions and a stack of cheese and bread.
There was fifty tons of blue vein cheese and 60 kegs of stout
on the day McArthur farted, and save the town from drought.
start softly, build to crescendo
He then sat down quietly and really tucked it back
then finished off those kegs of stout in 60 seconds flat.
Mac, he stood up slowly and turned his bum around
as the people all took cover as they heard this dreadful sound.
Like the roaring of a lion, and chill ran through their hearts
as McArthur'ss body trembled and let go some mighty farts.
He farted and he farted till the earth began to quake
the hills started shaking, the dam began to break.
But still McArthur farted till he made the thunder crack
The winds they howled, the lightning flared, the sky was turning black.
They heard him up in heaven, they heard him down in hell
they heard him round in China where the upsidedowners dwell !
Well I hardly need to tell ya, it was really on the snout
the day McArthur farted and saved the town from drought.
Even down in Adelaide theyve heard about his art
coz every second year they hold a festival of (F)arts.
So thats the way he saved the day up there in Bungadell
His memory still lingers on ... so too does the smell !

I took my Xzess 2 and my DF 33 clone to the pond this morning.
First the DF 33 report. I was testing the new Turnigy 180 amp esc with that. It only ran about 1/2 speed for some reason. I will have to check it again with the programming card. No smoke though
Next the Xzess 2. Ran that with the lead weights removed from the nose for the first time. I also tried a V937/3. The prop hooked up OK but was not fast at only 84 kph. It has done 101 kph on the andym X642. While it hooked up OK it appeared to be too small for the 1515 0.5Y and was revving hard but not fast. No sign of the nose lifting and it ran into the wind and across the wind and with the wind behind. There was just a bit more than a ripple on the lake.

Guys I have it on good authority that on Saturday afternoon Douggie was put on the breathalyzer and failed the test due to all the alcohol he had consumed earlier in the day.
