As OSE was down yesterday I will combine 2 days boating into one report so Douggie has something to read.
Sunday 11 2011.
Drambuie On Rice reached 97.6 kph or 60.64 mph on 8s
Setup... 8s lipo, Hifei Swordfish 240 hv, 2215 1.5 Y, andym X455
Monday 12 2011.
Drambuie On Rice reached 110 kph or 68.35 mph on 9s
Setup... 9s lipo, Hifei Swordfish 240 hv, 2215 1.5 Y, andym X455
The boat had its first blow over today so I guess I have reached the point where I have to make some changes to keep it on the water. To my thinking there are 2 courses of action I can take...
1. Move the COG forward
2. Glue a spoiler (sorry if I have used the wrong name but cats are new to me) at the front of the tunnel to stop the lifting action of the air pushing forward and up (think that is how the Doc explained it).
If any of you cat experts can help I would appreciate it. If there is no help I will pace the batteries further forward next time as it will go even faster on 10s which will be my next test.
To tell the truth I am surprised by a few things with this boat. First the speed I am getting on such a big boat (55 inches) and next the way the Hifei Swordfish is standing up to the big neu motor. It is looking like if I water cool it then 10s, the Neu and the Hifei will be compatible for my SAW type runs and I can bring out the big MGM esc for more serious stuff. Naturally stopping the blow overs is the big issue at the moment.
