No worries when it comes to being armed. Got that taken care of, but thanks. Oh, and am am also a little familiar with how they work. Back in the day I didt a lot of combat shooting, both IPSC and steel.

The difference with me is that I would have no issue with the requirement to be licensed and to prove that I am proficient and know what I am doing. Kind of an extension of the idea that many conservatives have when it comes to wire taps, police powers, etc. If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear. So if you are legal and proficient, then you have nothing to worry about.
    Don't get me started

Please vote Republican...I need a few more foreclosures added to my portfolio, maybe Fannie/Freddie will give me some no doc loans. Seriously I could careless who you vote for, But you wear what you buy...every Friday night my neighbors have these political parties for the culdesac. Three lost their Jobs last week, luckily their homes are paid for.

My conclusion is this, I'll buy everyone a bowling ball and masking tape with these instructions: first remove tape from package, then measure your TV diagonally from both sides and cut masking tape to match both sides forming an X. Next remove bowling ball from package. Standing approximately 6 feet in front of television aim for the center of the X and fire away my friend, as the ball leaves your hands you'll feel the euphoria of liberation.

If Mccain had picked Madame Blavatsky, he'd get the same following, because the majority of people are reactive and not proactive, subjective and not objective. People work hard and even harder as of this decade and have no time to do their own research so they are relegated to the mass media, who they blindly trust in being fair and balanced, Sure that's why Hannity the conservative looks like the clean cut "American " handsome and Colmes the democrat looks duffy as hell, it's all scripted as perfectly portrayed in the 1970's movies The Netowrk

An issue I've had a difficult time getting over is the Oil company connections.
It infuriates me that Big Oil keeps making record profits while our economy goes in the tank (no pun intended) largely due to our economic dependence on that petroleum.

Which ticket is most likely getting Big Oil kickbacks? If that ticket is elected what will happen with oil/energy? I think we will continue to see the record profits and astronomical gas prices along with more delays in production of really great alternative fuel vehicles. As LiPo users, we all know the potential of Electric vehicles, but who has the $$$ that are buying new battery tech? that's right! Exxon/Mobil et al. They aren't doing that because they want to keep progressing the technology, they're doing it to keep us buying their product at whatever price they ask.
I don't want to continue lining those pocketbooks for the rest of my life...

the big reason that we have such high oll prices is Bush, the Bush family business is oil and they have been tight with the Bin Laden family for many years I have heard it goes back as far as Bush'e grandfather...so George W isnt going to do anything to lower the prices...when he could have

Not so. Look at his voting record. He votes almost 90% with the Dems.

If your going to tell others to make sure they have the facts correct before hitting the enter key, maybe you should to.

I took into account That what I wrote is not correct. Thankyou for providing the correct info! The reason I say it doesn't change my few of him is that no one can tell me what he has done to warrant my vote for pres. He has no history. Wait yes he does, he doesn't vote.

How can I, or anyone, form an opinion on this. I go by what people have done, not by what they say they are going to do.

                      my bad Bill...

                      i looked up www.ipsc.org/

i learned that it's organized sport target shooting, the link didn't mention combat so your use of the term combat shooting confused me

Yes, the term "combat shooting" may not have the same connotation that you think it does. However, it is not my term, it is the term used by those who enjoy the sport of competitive practical handgun shooting. The colloquial term is "combat shooting".

IPSC was the brainchild of Col. Jeff Cooper, who coined the phrase, two in the chest and one in the head, make sure you leave them dead".

It was a great hobby and it teaches the use of firearms in stress situations. I used a very lightly modified Colt 1911 .45 (trigger pull smoothed, different sights, etc.). I miss it, but still have my guns (and have not forgotten how to use them).

Here's some links that may help:

And as I've mentioned before Ron, my combat experience was in the serene undersea world of stalking, and being stalked by, Soviet subs.

                        Oh well.

And point taken about Lieberman. Although one wonders about his actual ideas when you see him at the Republican convention!!

And a look at his record on key issues whos him voting with the Republicans more times than not, which is what I was really trying to make the point about. The fact still remains that the Democrats do not in fact have a functional majorioty in the Senate (or the House for that matter).
