I would like to take my son there but have no clue where to go to watch the races. Anybody going or go before that can offer some tips? Thanks.

Do you want to see the races, or do you want to see the boats? The best place to see the boats up close and personal is at the VanWezel performing arts center, where the boats park and put in. Best place to see the race in on Lido Key. -
Both would be nice, but to see them would be awesome for my 5 year old. He LOVES the Miss Geico- he has the proboat 17" and wants me to get the 29" as well lol. How crowded does it get there? Any pointers on going, like stay somewhere the night before, get there at a certain time, etc? I have never been there before and have no clue what traffic (both foot and vehicle) gets like! How about Lido Key- easy to get in and out of or is it a mad house? Lol, wonder how long of a ride to take our 18' bow rider up there from Charlotte Harbor? Sorry I didn't see this 2 months ago. I go almost every year, via water. I will say, it was crazy out there this past race. Insane amount of boats.

. Didn't really know where to go, where to park, etc. so we passed . We thought about boating up, but we only have an 18' bow rider and I know waves get pretty nasty out there!

It wasn't too bad out. A little choppy at times from boat traffic but not bad.
Where are you located? Weve got a club that meets at Ackerman park, just east of 75 off fruitville, every 2nd and 4th Sunday if youre interested in running boats with some folks. www.wfmbc.comComment
