Gun Owners: Show Your Support To Starbucks On Feb 14, 2012

"As you may or may not have a heard, an anti gun group is planning a boycott of Starbucks starting on Feb 14, 2012. This is because Starbucks has a corporate policy of honoring state and local laws regarding the carry of firearms in their stores. This means that if it’s legal to carry a gun in a state, Starbucks corporate policy will respect that right and welcome gun carriers. Starbucks is not “pro gun”, but rather neutral on the subject. This is really all we can ask as gun owners and carriers of any private business. So, in opposition to the boycott and to show support for a company which respects the Constitution and state laws, gun owners are encouraged to spend money with Starbucks on February 14, 2012 to show your support and offset any boycott (right now the boycott has a couple hundred participants while the support Starbucks event on Facebook has over 18,000 confirmed participants)."

Well Sir I'm a day late, although I do each morning brew a pot of Starbucks French Roast. If the gun ban idiots ever get their way, we only have one choice (as on my chop's tank for the last 22 years - and as you know I'm already there) :

Say, what's the electronic device at the bottom of the picture there against the tank??

Darin, It's a LED voltage display attached to my ignition-on circuit. Radio Shack had them for $6.99 years ago. Each LED represents an incremental increase in system voltage. Tells me whether the antiquated charging system is working or not. Pre-1970 the bikes were generator equipped, and the voltage regulator puts out too much juice for the tiny kickstart batteries that most choppers run ( they were calibrated to charge the much larger electric start batteries) so the system either cooked the 7 amp kickstart battery or ate the voltage regulator or the generator armature. I found a Honda 14 amp battery that just fits and run a lower output voltage regulator now. Even so, now I can tell whether I'll be riding or pushing on any given day !

          I am with you Darin!

We had this issue in CA right in my back yard. Now they banned open carry (for the most part) as of 1/1/12. So we get a CCW instead:)

Properchopper, I thought your boats were your best toys... I stand corrected. Nice bike. If it's anything like your boats, it must be immaculate!

Sean, not immaculate, but rather (intentionally) politically incorrect

Wish I would have seen this. I wonder if there was a surge in customers that day.
