President Barack Obama made a brief 2 hour visit to Darwin ( Capitol of the Norhern Teritory ) & gateway to Asia this afternoon , after his week visitation to Sydney & Melbourne . This afternoon he addressed National Parliament on future defence policy in our National Capitol - " Canberra " . Then AF1 headed to the Northern Teritory's Capitol " Darwin " which saw him pay tribute by laying a reef for the 89 American lives lost on USS Peary , in which time he also met survivors of the bombing of Darwin Harbour on the 19th of February 1942 , which brought Australia into the Pacific theatre of War . His brief stay also saw him meet up with Australian Servicemen & Women & the 50 American Marine servicemen that are stationed here for 12 months .
Before Jetting off to our neighbouring Asian country Indonesia , for an Asian / Pacific summit
Great To see ANZUS at work , & our Friendship between our two nations displayed this afternoon on National TV ( ABC ) . " Airforce 1 " is welcome Downunder anytime as far as i am concerned !!! .BG
