Good stuff lads, as an aside I have a descktop system with a very good audio card and M-Audio speakers. The ex wifey visited me last night and wrote down all the stuff I have as she was shocked at the sound...laptop users you are stuck with what you get...her computer is a top of the line Apple.

I'm not easily impressed, nor suprized, but I must admit, ya really caught me flat footed here. Solo up to big band, jazz, mid eastern, contemporary, all with deep intricate arrangements.

Gotta say for recording I wouldn't go with anything but an Apple, quite often use an apple laptop for recording performances using an 8 channel A/D. Then use a desktop for mixing and mastering.
8 channels just does my trio live, also about the limit of the computer. So easy now to get a great quality recording of your live performances
