I've been reading the posts about the difference between the two and decided to do some quick calcs. The 5.5 OSE male is 12mm long, I don't have a 4mm male but I do have a HK one and it measure 12mm also, the OSE 4mm female is 15mm deep so I assume the 4mm OSE male is 12mm. I don't have any 6mm bullets so I guessed at 12mm also. These are my assumptions and all measurements were taken with a ruler and magnifying glass. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Deans 4X7.5 mm=30 sq/mm
OSE 4mm 12mm long=150.72 sq/mm
OSE 5.5mm 12mm long=207.24 sq/mm
Castle 5.5mm 8mm long=138.16 sq/mm
guess 6mm 122m long=226.08 sq/mm
It's obvious that the Deans would heat up more than even the 4mm bullet with 5 times the surface area. The difference between the OSE and Castle 5.5 is huge, looks to be another 33%!
Guess it's time to ditch the Deans as I now see what everyone is talking about.
